Is it just me, or does the skill icon for Union look extremely similar to the cover of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here album? If you look at Union, you can obviously see the handshake icon, but the hand on the left (probably meant to be a spirit's hand), looks almost robotic. Also, there are particles that seem to be coming off of the spirit hand, similar to the fire on the robot hand on the album.
Anybody else see the connection?

Well if you zoom in and do a little photoshop work i'm sure there could be similarities. I doubt it was influential in the icon design but then again when I read some things on the wiki about references to people and places and quotes etc I wouldn't be surprised.

There is a lot of stuff in GW from times past, wouldn't be surprised if it had anything to do with it.
And I bet you are one of those people who say "this game is old and dying and no one plays anymore" or something along those lines whenever a topic about the game population thinning out. gg.

I rather like the fact that the Ear Bite animation looks just like Mike Tyson. There are a ton of pop culture references in Guild Wars, and there's also a thread discussing them.

On topic: I'll once again say obviously people have nothing better to do in the game than to look at skill icons and compare it to something else. All the more reason to bring out Guild Wars 2 or something new.

All i was doing was stating an observation I made. It wasn't like I was looking for similarities, it was just something I happened to notice, because it was on my skill bar. I really didn't expect all of this trolling just for a simple comment. Sorry if I somehow offended any of you....
