Hi,

This problem seems to be occuring more and more frequently for me and it seems to occur pretty randomly.

Basically when i'm playing, the mouse icon for GW will dissappear for a brief period of time and when it reappears, the skin has changed to the default windows skin, which is pretty annoying since I'm used to the GW skinned mouse.

Another thing that I've noticed is when this happens, if I move the mouse over to the side of the screen, so it changes to the to sided arrow skin when you are resizing a window, it will stay like that when I move the mouse back over into the GW window, which again, is pretty annoying.

Does anyone know why my mouse is reverting to the windows skin and getting stuck when it changes to the re-sizing windows skin? How can I fix this?

I'm running XP SP3.

Try changing graphics a bit, or maybe your graphics card/monitor?

It has happened to me before, it;s a bug and it dosent have anything to do with graphics or monitors. Just minimize and maximize again to get it back faster than letting it come back on its own (minimize by alt + tab) and then use the windows pointer temporarily until you can restart GW again. You might wanna change your windows pointer to the 3d gold, looks only slightly like it belongs in gw too.

try the "-repair" command it is possibly a gw.dat file corruption that is causing it...

It could be that some background app that checks for input from the mouse or keyboard is mucking up the settings. This could be a virus or Malware, or, more likely, one of those useless Winamp, etc., apps that run in your systray.
