Dwarves in GW2?
Crash Override
I apologize if this has been mentioned already, but I am curious to know if the Dwarves will ever return in GW2 as a playable and interactive race and your thoughts if they do/do not retun.
I figured that if they do return, it may be in the form of a mini-expansion? I loved the Dwarves in GW1 and would love to find a way to bring them back into GW2.
What do you guys think?

To be absolutely clear, the dwarves will not be playable in the upcoming GW2, or in future games. Leaked info point out that the dwarves are nothing but living stones. They are all that's left of the species, which is pretty grim.
To make them playable means we have to get off track of the lore.
I'd say more, but this should explain this better.

I was thinking a lot about this: since only the Deldrimor Dwarves accepted the ritual of the Great Dwarf, and with it they've turned into living stone. But the Movement of the World doesn't mention what happens/happened to the Stone Summit. I'd love to play with evil dwarves, and MAYBE they will be a playable race with a mini-expansion for GW2!

As mentioned above, it was only the Deldrimor Dwarves who suffered the living stone fate, who knows what other groups/clans of Dwarves exist in the hidden corners of the world. That, and the Stone summit are far cooler... anyone who kills Rurik can't be all bad.

And also... whose to say you can't play a creature made of stone? What's really to stop you (except the whole, they are rare/dying out thing)?
That said, they still have said that Dwarves won't be a playable race. But, it is very possible that they will be one day.

they are an endagered spieces in GW2.. when was an 'endagered species' creatures playable in gw? xD
pumpkin pie
no! dwarves are ugly

Still have to take that with a grain of salt. Elves are a dying race in LotR and Warhammer, you can still play them. Jedi are supposed to be incrediablly rare, but they are everywhere in Star Wars Galaxies.

Perhaps those with the Eternal Delver Monument might get something linked to them...

Anyway, on topic (SPOILER ALERT):
The Dwarves turned to stone and thus cannot die. But because of that, they obviously can't reproduce and make more Dwarves, so they won't be playable in Guild Wars 2. They'll probably be in the game since they can't die, but again, you can't play as them.

The most likely reason they're trying to push Dwarves out of the game is they probably feel they're too much of a cliché thing in MMOs.

umm the only one left is a hero. the rest are stone. So i think you will be seeing a very old Ogden, but nothing else, save a stone dwarf here and there.
