I finished Nightfall with a touch ranger and I'm finding I want a much more capable SOLO farmer (great for vaetirs but not much else until I get Offering of Blood, and even them mainly single pull stuff). Specifically SOLO AOE farming. I found a post about R/N boss locations but it's WAY out of date and doesn't seem to apply to me since I don't have Offering of Blood yet (Think I need a "droks run" to capture the skill - another reason I want to start off with a new guy).
I can do HM in nightfall but since I still have factions and prophecies and eotn to finish I want to pick both a campaign and a aoe wreckmonster for future HM runs. I read a ton, I've read so many PVX builds it's silly. I know most "farming" builds is specific skills to the area/mobs. I can adjust based on that, but I want the preferable starting class to be the most versitle for AOE farming.
Any suggestions for my starting build and the campaign? If you had to start over a campaign for the specific reason of finishing it to get the HM AOE farms, which would you choose?
I'm thinking Elementalist and Factions. But I've been reading lots of stuff about elementalist getting more and more difficult in hard mode. Is there a new "breed" of farming build that outshines ele as the starting class or build on ele as a secondary for general aoe mayhem? And is there a campaign that once finished has the more "viable" HM AOE farms for that class? Again specifically AOE and PvE.
Any thoughts are welcome, thanks.
Touch Ranger completed Nightfall. Starting over with AOE farmer. Campaign + suggest?

Try using 600/smite. It's easy to start off from factions (easy level up and attribute
point quests) or nf, where you can ferry easy, because NF doesn't have many farming areas, and the island takes forever, but the attribute point quests are prettymuch synergizing with your main quests.

Seeing as builds are not locked in place, you should be looking at professions not builds and because you can travel between continents starting campaign is not so revelvant (unless prophecies, but who starts there?).
For farming Ele, Assassin (for the time being) and Monk are your common farmers, for speedclears add Nec.

Yea I'm just asking about the starting point since I want to finish the campaign and have access to HM for those areas. Guess it's factions then! And ya I did mean more specifically professions, I'm just so used to saying/seeing build all the time with GW.
When I was looking around at the 600/smite it seemed most of those builds were focused on a duo, but I'll look deeper. Interesting about assassin, I was not aware they were popular solo builds (least one of the less spoken, maybe it's the new "don't talk about it or it'll get nerfed" deals.
