Changing guild name or guild tag...

I dont know if this is feasible but if you could how much would you pay for it in a micro transaction.

Personally.. Nothing, as I like our guild's name and we never had need for it.

But for the sake of your question.. I think a fair price would be same as renaming a character.

$0.

My join date isn't something I care about anymore, so this feature wouldn't be very useful to me. However, I do know people that care about that sort of thing, so it may be useful to them.

IMO, there should be NPCs that offer services for large sums of gold or special tokens that you play the game to earn. Maybe a quest chain for each different service or something like that... but anyway, the community has spoken and said that they are willing to pay X amount of cash for Y service before, so this snowball is already rolling down the hill and will likely get bigger.

I didn't mean to go OT, just wanted to point out that there are other options and paying cash shouldn't be the first that comes to mind for things that could be implimented in game for game money.

I would pay absolutely no money because I have no guild. Even if I was in a guild, I wouldn't change the name.

Don't start these threads.

ANet will see this and add it in four years later. Then you'll be saying you never wanted to pay for it or that the price is too high.

Its best to keep thoughts about micro-transactions to yourself.

If your reply is irrelevant (I wouldn't pay because I don't want to change/don't have a guild to change), then don't post. That, or take it as a hypothetical and actually give an answer.

Nothing?

Guilds are broken and remade pretty quickly, most guilds (Pvp) don't have more than 15-16 people so it's quite easy to get back all the members.

I might pay for it if I ever got a trim though lol...

I would be willing to £1.00 for 2 tag changes; and £2.00 for 2 name changes.

Nothing, as I could abuse the report system and get a free name change.
Anyways, its not that hard to reform a guild, and why not come up with a decent name in the first place?

One bazillion dollars!

*hopes that A.Net is reading this and they go "DUDE!!1!! We should start charging for this!!!1 DUDE!11!!1 100 bucks!11!!b DUDE!1!11!" followed by whole guru posting lolcats.*
What?!? It's too hot to play with myself and I need some entertainment!

Seriously?
Nothing.
Or better yet - it's not a feature I would use even if they'd offer it for free.
So I guess it's the perfect candidate for a micro-transaction.

Not a good idea.

It will cause massive QQ threads about how PvE players are unable to pick their predictions for the mAT because a large amount of non-top8 material will change their name for fun.

Because, GW is srs bsns.

Why would you even care about changing your guild's name. Horrible suggestion - because nobody cares.

A-Net does NOT do Micro transactions. Look up in any dictionary the meaning of the word "Micro". $10 is not a Micro sized payment.

I wouldn't pay for a guild name change since you can always grind more gold and make another one. If you're the type of person that doesn't care about entry date, well do what I just said. If you do care, well it's bad luck for you buddy. You don't get a prize for 4 year old guilds anyways.

I'd rather ANet make it easier for PvPers to MAKE guilds, instead of worrying about renaming them.

Don't see this thread staying open much longer...

Anyway as to why not just reform. Maybe some people already decked out their hall with those costly NPCs. Or better yet, you can just buy a fully decked guild from someone else for a fraction of the price, and then buy a name change. In which case, you are basically buying gold - fairly consistent with other "services" like the unlock packs...

What are you preserving by renaming rather than reforming? Guild formation date? Record/rating? Guild Hall NPCs?

You're talking about a limited market that won't pay very much for the convenience. The devs wouldn't recoup the cost of the programmer hours necessary to implement the change through sales.

I doubt that this will ever happen but if it did then I'd consider doing it.

I was given a fully stocked Kurzick guild hall that I've kept so we could use the NPCs. When I got that guild hall it became less of a priority to get all of the NPCs for the primary guild hall, so it's still only partially stocked.

The guild I was given has an OK name but I think I'd change it if I could and maybe switch it to the primary guild if that would be possible.

ETA: How much would I pay? I'm not sure. I'm used to paying for stuff that I want so if the price isn't too outrageous then I'd probaly do it.

Really, really retarded idea.

All the sold gold trims, WM, eF, DF... are now... [rawr]! Yes it's possible for a bad guild to get a gold trim with the same tag as a previous, but that has yet to be done.

There should be NO such option at all. Horrible idea really, for many many different reasons.

In the first place guild names and tags shouldn't be changable at all! No matter the cost.

If it was an option competetive guilds would abuse that heavily to gain advantage in tournaments. Just look at Hero Battles tourneys where players change their account names all the time.

Other reasons were mentioned here already, like selling that service for real $$ allowing players to sell that for ingame gold effectively leading into you know what.

The idea is that, it is convenient over reforming guild. Someone may want to pay $14.99 over having to reform the guild add all the NPC's and reinviting all the members some may have been not been online for over a month. And the idea that it is the same guild with a new name rather than a different guild or a successor guild may be appealing.

And guilds change over time, along with the members, leaders, officers and perhaps they may want to change the guild name to more appropriately reflect the guild in its current form.

It is a limited feature and I do not know how it would work as only the gulid leader would be able to change the name and or tag.

Regarding PvP, knowing your opponent is helpful, but don't what the players run determine actual build and not the guild itself?

I would pay 2k, same as for making the guild in the first place. Perhaps 4k as punishment from ANet for changing your mind. Real money? Hell no.

People ... it seems like you went paranoid after latest micro-transactions update, so let me clear something for you ... as soon as Anet, NCSoft or whatever makes up an idea about charging you for such a thing, it will get into the game, and don't think it wasn't considered earlier. It was, and was rejected for a good reason. Charging for such a thing real money would mean an ultimate death to this game, and there are many other examples of what not to charge someone a money for.

If you ask me will I pay 100-200% more for each game campaign with actual content, I will say yes, as long as it's quality making and long lasting experience. If you ask me will I pay for some gay stuff like changing guild name or character name or my character face, then my answer is no. Such transactions undermine the spirit of the game and it doesn't matter if the game is b2p or p2p. It's a cheap technique used in f2p games, where the only source of income comes from adverts and small pool of paying customers for all sort of 'premiums', 'uber items', 'costumes' and 'mounts'.

Greed doesn't justify real needs of a business. You can be honest and still make a good business, or turn off your most loyal base just to get an additional cherry on the pie. Guess what, it won't contribute to better game but for premium pay for some NCSoft manager in Seoul, at the very least to Anet game developers and programmers.

I'd pay a maximum of £2-3. A character slot is roughly £6, but that's lasting the time your account is up on the servers. I wouldn't mind changing my Rangers' name, but at the end of the day it's not like it's something completely absurd.
