This is... EPIC....Wonderful....E-MAZING! There's no word to describe it in my book... Some of you may not use steam, but I love Steam.

It's similar to xFire but they sell games too.

You know what this could mean? 'course you don't xD

It opens potential... What if Arena Net is going to add Steam Features? Such as "Achievements" Like our titles viewable as Steam Achievements? Character pages... Because seam can track statistics too if the developers want it to.

Such as Professions most played, missions, most healing, whatever, I'm just brainstorming. This could also mean a "console" to possibly modify the games look to look BETTER or Worse depending on your graphics potential. This could even mean Character Pages(Yes I said already...but....) For Guild Wars 2! xD

This is exciting to me xD probably no one else... DISCUSS!!!!


Edit: I realized something... only people who buy it on steam, would be able to actually have any thing tracked or w/e in case such an unlikely thing happens xD
But for GW2...

How could anyone love steam? Its one of the worst and most annoying things on the whole internet, I could care less that GW is on it. Im sure that 90% of people will agree with me.

So basically a bunch of really super awesome and completely useless features that have no effect on the game itself. WOOHOO!

Can I see how many steps my warrior has taken in the 40 months I'v been playing? Can I see how many times I'v Identified or salvaged items? Can I see how many items broke when I tried to salvage a mod! Can I see how many times I ran backwards with my armored pants off while playing the drums! WOOHOO! Can I block others from spying on my character statistic's?

I guess I'm just not that into it.

I thought people were having problems with steam since most games want to enter a serial number during install but guild wars doesn't do that?

Looks like you're over thinking it :P I was just showing what kind of thign it could possibly do, this isnt a suggestion thread, which is why its not in sardelac . And you're acting unless something is game changing its not interested, QQ somewhere else.

yeah it's been on there for a couple months i believe, there was a thread on it ages ago.

acheivements etc as you say would be cool for the stat lovers out there but no chance of that happening for GW1 i'd say.

GW asks for the key when you create the acc. most other games ever created ask for it in install.

Wow, maybe around when it came out but it stopped sucking a long time ago dude...finding someone who doesn't like Steam now is going to be pretty rare.

But yep, this is cool, they won't add any Steam features tho, it's just another method of selling the game, and we already had a topic about this.

Just because a game is on Steam, doesn't mean it uses Steamworks. Nothing will change.

Funny because it's common agreement that Steam is the best thing invented by Valve, next to Half-Life.

Anw, old news are old, sorry. It's been on sale on steam for awhile, and there's already been a couple of threads about it.

I wouldn't mind Steam so much, but on my computer it takes up an inordinate amount of RAM. GW already has some lag issues, so taxing my system more is probably not worth the incremental benefits of running Steam.

I used "add non-Steam game" a long time ago because I switched away from X-Fire because X-Fire can't handle DX10 games.... /sigh

I think you're just dim. Steam is great and actually usable, unlike that pile of crap called 'Windows Live' that MS crams down our throats as much as possible.

Not all that common. Plenty of people are completely unimpressed by Steam.

Why not set that bar a little lower? Even if steam is the second best, it's a *distant* second.

Common agreement amongst whom? Steam users who are happy with the service? I think you're probably right. Doubtful that the huge group of users who wouldn't touch Steam with a 10 foot pole would agree with you, nor all those Steam users who absolutely hate the service and software, but are forced to use it for certain games...

ncsoft should put the 4in1 bundle and eye of the north in the store too.

it's not that bad. the prices are too high, but the service is decent.
