ok, well Im lookin for a laptop that is under 600, will run all Guild wars, beat all games, go everywhere without problems. I would also like this laptop not be just for GW. i would need cd/DVD disc drive. I found some laptops in which i will give links. My question is, will any of these laptops work the way they are, will i need to buy a seperate Video Card for said computer, and which video card will i need. like i said i can only spend at most 550, but will pay extra 50 if really needed. Heres the links, and remember to tell me if they will work as is, if not what Video Card will i have to buy for which laptop:

you can't upgrade the graphic cards for laptops. you'll either have to buy a laptop with a good enough graphic chip right off the bat, or abandon laptops and get a desktop.

As Moriz said you cant upgrade or change the video card in a laptop - for gaming you will want a laptop with a dedicated video card, not an integrated one, but those are almost always more expensive..... generally you will want to have $800 or more budgeted for a half way decent gaming laptop.

I should also state that every one of the laptops you have listed has the same type of video card (Intel Integrated) that your old desktop has - which was giving you trouble already. None of them are a good choice for Guild Wars or any other semi-modern video game.

For a laptop that's going to be playing recent games, you're really not going to see much change from a grand without cutting corners.

However, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834115556 - opinions?

Don't get the $300 one from Best Buy - it has very crappy graphics and the other specs are way lower than the $500 one from Newegg. The $500 one will give you a decent Guild Wars experience and should have no problem playing through the whole game, just be prepared to possibly need to lower the settings at some points. The 9100M GPU is basically a renamed 8400M which is a mobile graphics chipset that lots of people have used to play GW. :-)

i was lookin at dells. i read that you can add a graphics card onto a dell. is there any dell/toshiba laptops with dedicated graphics card (that will run through all of the guild wars campaigns so i can finally beat them) out there for under 500-550? thanks for all your guys' gals' help. i appreciate it a lot.

You cannot add a graphics card to a laptop - to even do so would require that you directly solder the chipset to the motherboard, and you don't want to even think about that.

you can custom order dell laptops with dedicated graphic cards. however, you won't be able to change them afterwards, and dell never offer you very good selections.

You can customize certain Toshiba laptops, but none within the OPs price range - about the only way to get a laptop with a dedicated graphics card for $500 range is to luck out on EBay.

none of them are particularly great, but the last one is the best.

I agree with moriz, the processing speed and graphics cards on the first two are much weaker compared to the last one. Another thing to note is that the 512kb L2 cache and 1gb system memory of the 1st is very low as well, which will cause you problems when using a graphics card that relies on system memory.
