Substitute for Glyph of Swiftness.
Prayash
Hello,
I have all 3 campaigns except EotN and I'm trying to make a perma sin. Apparently, Glyph of Swiftness is an EotN skill..
Is there another substitute for it or do I HAVE to get EotN?

Well there is a substitution for a the glyph, it's called arcane echo. Though that varient actually takes timing to use. If your gonna do UWSC or FoWSC they drop the glyph because of a celerity.

Oh okay. I think I'm just gonna try to buy the expansion pack cause it's 9.99 atAmazon. But thanks.

Skill recharges 25% faster has no substitute. As stated above your best bet is to arcane echo and have the skill available to recast, but it is a big timing issue.

i was gonna say you could use an essence, but those are in ETON also so :P

If he wants to craft an Essence of Celerity, he would need EoTN, but you can always find someone willing to sell Essences (or any other consumable for that matter) in Kamadan (Nightfall) or @ the ToA (Prophecies).

I would buy it but it's kinda expensive to buy a lot of them especially since I'm new to perma and I need to practice it so I would have to use it everytime.

If you used arcane echo with deadly paradox with 15 shadow arts and 10% enchanting staff, the timing isn't much of an issue as you just cast when sf is running out but I don't think people sell 10% enchanting wraps very often...

If you want to go cheap, do this:
1. Find an trial key for EoTN(I remember it being offer on Guid Wars's website) and that will give you about 10 hrs of usage.
2. Run to EoTN town.
3. Buy EVERY SKILLS that is available only to EoTN for EVERY profession.
4. Never look back and never need to buy EoTN unless u want the PvE skills.
Works for my friend.

Correct. Once the trial runs out, any skills available exclusively in that campaign/expansion will be locked until you purchase said campaign/expansion.
If buying Essences is too expensive, then farm for Feathers and Glittering Dust and ask a friend, Guildmate, or Alliance member to craft them for you. Of course, you need to also give them the crafting cost (~250g iirc), but that's cheaper than just buying the Essences outright.
There's always a way to get what you need for little cost, and if it's worth it for you to Perma, it's worth it to be able to no matter the required costs since you don't have access to Glyph of Swiftness and it seems like you aren't wanting to run A/Me to use Arcane Echo.

Unless you're doing UWSC, essences are going to be a huge waste of money. You're better off either going A/Me and just learning the timing of it, or just buying EotN and getting Glyph.
I mean, if you want to spend 3.5-4k on every run for essences, go ahead. But you're almost guaranteed not to make a profit out of it.
