New concept: PvD
Fanita
I have an idea for a new form of way to play the game. I would love to see this in GW, but it would probably be more realistic to see it in GW2, either one would really be fine with me. Now we have PvE and PvP, some like them both, some like one, some hate PvE, some hate PvP, some like PvE and only somewhat dislike PvP, some are hardcore PvPers and think everyone who PvE's is a scrub, some are partial to both, some like on a lot and only like the other a little bit, some love both, some hate both but play the game anyways, I think that covers it. But regardless of whether we like or dislike PvE or PvP, we will always have our problems with both. Up till now, this has been the only logical place to tell the developers how much you hate them, as support would never respond to a complaint on that level. So I am proposing PvD: Player vs Developer. This would be a special outpost, much like Heroes Ascent, dedicated to players forming teams to battle it out with the developers. Now obviously the developers couldn't sit around all day waiting to battle furious players, so there would be special times in which to do it, or perhaps entire weekend events. I think this would provide an excellent way to "stick it to the man". The man being the developers.
My idea is open to changes and CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. So, what do you guys think?

The developers don't have the slightest clue about the game.
See: skill balance.
See: skill balance.

This is also a reason it would be fun, we could beat the hell out of them no problem.. People are always complaining about how stupid they are and everything they do in the game (ie skill balance) is fail, well now you can have a chance to just beat on them.
jiggles
And the devs would agree to this becauseeee?
Still Number One
why would they need a new variant for this... All they would have to do is announce that they will be playing gvg all day on whatever day and get your guild together and come play us in some gvg. Hell it might even convince some guilds to form up a team for the chance of playing the devs and maybe even getting hooked and liking gvg.

Seriously most of the dev's I bet don't even know how to play this game. They probably play WoW instead.

personally i'd rather see the developers get the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO off their asses and fix the billion problems wrong with the game

It's called The Fianna.
Ferminator
If imbalanced skills are used against them, there's no way they will turn a blind eye to them.
Puebert
It'd be cool to see more dev interaction ingame, but I don't feel this accomplishes anything.

The Developer:
Skills:
Nerf: One random skill is selected from target foe's skillbar. That skill now costs 25 energy and has a 90s recharge.
Wild Nerfbat: Touch skill. If one of target foe's skill was affected by Nerf, that effect now becomes permanent for all players in the game.
Flying Darts: Target foe and all foes in the area suffer from cripple, bleeding, and dazed for 120 seconds. These conditions cannot be removed prematurely.
QQMore: All hostile spells fail and all attacks against you miss for 30 seconds. Whenever an attack or spell fails this way, that foe begins crying and suffers from -20 health degeneration.
GG: Target foe dies.
"We Are Working on Guild Wars 2!": Target foe's game client crashes with an error message that says "Error 999: This feature has been disabled because we are currently working on Guild Wars 2 and cannot devote the time and resources to maintain it."

I guess it would be cool to play with the devs, but they prolly too busy laughing at everyone that makes a thread about skill nerfs and buffs or to make professions better.
HawkofStorms
How will this thread ever lead to anything constructive?

Mad Lord of Milk
Never gonna happen, sounds amusing though.
gameshoes3003
If you think about it, there aren't that many people that developed this game (unless if you include the musicians, concept artists, etc)... there's no way this can really happen.
Arduin
There are like 7 people in the Live Team (the dev's you are talking about). I don't think they would like to spend their entire weekend battling us over and over during a PvD weekend.
Aljasha
just watch the fianna whenever they gvg and then read the update notes.
