Spirits Damage

What kind of damage do spirits of SoS do? It is an armor ignoring damage, I understand that. But is it physical damage? Will their damage synchronize with Mark of Pain and Barbs?

Go to the training grounds inside the Temple of Balthazar and try it on one the the armor post. beats waiting for an answer.

I highly highly doubt it would be physical. It's likely to be some kind of magical damage that you'd get on a wand or something like that.

Dark or Shadow damage, methinks.

all spirit attacks look like dark damage to me, some barf-green blob

I'm assuming it's just "Damage"..Armor-Ignoring Damage, Like, Vile Touch

It's just armor ignoring damage, don't think it's specific.

And as far as I know there is no shout, ward, etc. that increases spirit damage except for Painful Bond and Signet of Ghostly Might.

I just tried in the nameless isle - neither barbs nor mark of pain seemed to work with the spirit's attacks.
