Hello All

I really do like the Paragon class, nice high armor, chucking spears and having a shield.

However, now that ive became more advance, completed a few campaigns, i have a, regret, you could say.

See, 99% of the time, people wants Paragons to run the Imbagon build, which is fair enough, it does dominate PvE. But, i didnt chose Paragon just for that build, i dont mind doing the off few support, but believe it or not, i quite, and more interested, the dealing damage part.

Im guessing most of the comments will be along the lines of Paragon isnt a damage class.

Im just not sure if its worth carrying on if im not going to be running a complete support/buff builds.

Thankyou.

Every monk loves support, and there is only 2 classes that is built around that. Ritualist and Paragons are my favorite classes on my team if I'm monking. Saying your don't want to support is saying you shouldn't play your class.

Paragon? What's that? You mean imbagon? Because that stupid skill remains stupid powerful it's everyone favorite stereotyped class, it even tops Healers Boon. Even I forget that Save Yourselves! isn't a Paragon skill.

Save Yourselves is stupid strong with the right combo of skills, the only reason why perma's isn't always loved is because one slip up and BOOM. AKA your strongest skill can keep you in a critical point.

Shadow Form draw back: If it ends your screwed with 50 health and a mob that now targets your team

Save Yourselves draw back: You don't get the armor bonus...!! that is amazingly bad skill balance. There is no draw back and it isn't risky at all because your in the middle of your team. GG a-net

You love the class, the angelic armor, grow golden wings when using a skill, I love the class to. I suggest waiting for a Save Yourselves nerf in the near future. Everyone hates the stereotyped must-have-or-die build.

On my PvP-centered account, the only PvE character I have for it is a Paragon if that says anything. And note that I have another Paragon on my main account, too.

Their damage isn't the highest, but does it really matter all that much when you can buff your party's damage to much higher? Stronger party > stronger unit.

Paragons are pretty fun considering they can do a lot of things if you aren't obsessed with meta even though they can't farm, solo, do all of the other "cool" end game stuff.

I, for one, am having fun chaining stand your ground with TNtF to fuel soldier's fury and act as a pseudo-imbagon. It's way more fun than Imbagoning, and I expect this will become more popular if SY! ever gets nerfed (and it really ought to be).

Really, the only things paragons are missing are good Command elites and good recharges for motivation. That's not too bad a place to be in. Both skills lines are still usable and we have good skills/elites in our other two. Most classes have one skill line that more or less unusable, we just have two that are a little meh. None too shabby really.

H&H or play with guildies and mates. That way there should be little or no complaint about your build.
For harder missions you may find that you would be far better of running that build, BHA isnt my favourite ranger build, but if im vanquishing an area with a tough monk boss or a hard hitting ele boss ill play BHA.
And if your doing elite areas, run the build you get asked to, pretty much everyone else does.

Everyone loves to play the role of Damage Dealer and yes, a Paragon can fill that role with the right build. However, if you look at all of the skills a paragon has in their arsenal (even those outside the imbagon setup!) they are centered around supporting your party. It's how the class was simply designed to be.

To put it in simpler MMO terms, it's a Bard who wanted to be a badass Spartan so he tossed his violin for a spear and shield.

I actually put The National aside and started listening to Portishead again because of this thread.
(And yeah, I am fully and utterly aware of the off-topic awesomeness that just happened! )

On topic:
If you want to play a damage dealers - look into something else. Paragons are able to deal damage WHILE providing massive support, so they can not compete in the damage dealing category with the guys that deal damage ONLY.
The buff to Strength of Honor should show you that if you want to play a physical damage dealer - you need to go melee.

Xtreme, I know how you feel. I got so tired, so bored, of Imbagon that all I do now with my Paragon is solo with heroes and hench; now I can run any old build I want to.
