According to the wiki, armour penetration skills will stack with a bonus from a sundering prefix.

awesome!
So if i were to cast say:
Chain Lightning (25% base armor pentration) and I'm using a caster mod sword, with sundering prefix, would it still stack? I wouldn't be attacking with an attack skill, but still be wielding the weapon.

I wouldn't have thought so as the armour penetration would apply to the 15-22 damage from the sword so you would have to be attacking with it to get the sundering benefit.
But if you were to use a sword skill that added armour penetration then it would stack with the sword prefix.

Yea, I realized the last bit with the wiki link.....the hidden treasures I've never found there :O
I remember there being a post around here somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

The Sundering prefix on your sword does one thing: Give you a 20% chance to hit with 20% armor penetration. This, of course, can stack with your Strength attribute (gives you +1% AP per rank) on any attack skill you use, and with other skills that provide AP. Just about anything that provides AP will stack, if you decide to go on a field day with it...
