Change up Hex color schemes
Copenhagen Master
I just thought it would be a good idea to *spice up* GW and the hexs colors. You get hexed by anything it appears always pink. I say change them to the specific Primary character hexes. For example say your hexed by a Necro, the color would be a darkish color/black. Mesmer would stay pink. Ele, red. Monk smites would appear blueish. Plus it might make when your in battle for people to tell what type of monster is casting the hex and to focus on that monster first etc..etc..

There are already icons to tell us what hexes have been casted on us. It's purely decorative and lacking of real use in my opinion.

So what would happen when you have a condition with colours similar to your proposal, also whats wrong with pinging annoying hexes for them to be stripped from you and what has more priority when you have conditions and hexes stacked sorry but from what im thinking the system wouldnt work.
albeit a nice idea :P

I'll pass, thanks. When I'm monking the last thing I want is to see four or five different arrows, one hex arrow and one condition arrow are more than good enough. Also, any team that I monk for (outside of RA) is either pinging the important hexes or yelling on Vent, which works just as good. Similarly, if the hex is covered with something like Parasitic Bond, they're telling me not to waste my energy, which is also quite nice.

that is a horrible idea ... does it really matter who cast, they all do harm to you, thats just horribly dumb, sorry
majikmajikmajik
isnt that what ALT + click is for? how are they going to know what hex it is just by the color.....when a player has a hex on them, they ping it, when they are hexed with sumthing nasty then it gets covered, they ping both.
/notsigned because its only color,it will clutter name bars,it wont attract players, learn to call hexes.

/signed having it color coded will make it easier to tell which to remove and there is not really a good reason for not adding it

If there is still only one arrow, this could be an OK change. If there are multiple arrows, it becomes pointless. This isn't a particularly useful change, though.
Bob Slydell
When it comes down to it there are spell subclasses, a hex is a spell subclass. All hexes are simply put... hexes (whether ele, mes, nec)..and should function like a hex, show like a hex on your health bar and so on.

so... what harm does Mark of Pain, Assassin's Promise, Defender's Zeal, ect... do to you, directly? Mark of pain hurts adjacent allies, assassin's promise does nothing unless you die, and defender's zeal does nothing /to/ you, only gives energy to the one who cast it on you.

its...meh
its not needed, but it'd be nice.
AS LONG AS YOU GET THE OPTION TO TURN IT OFF.

There should only be one arrow regardless of the amount of hexes. Which still isn't that helpful because if your monk knew you were under a necro hex, they would not know if it was something powerful like LC or just a cover like Defile.
So, it actually wouldn't provide any more information than what prof hexed you last.

Too many colors.
Pink already means "Degen by Hex".
A way to know ally degen pips would be better than that.
If I'm a monk, it doesn't matter to me if the hex was cast by a necromancer or a mesmer, I want to remove the most dangerous one.

I'd rather know how many hexes/conditions are on the ally, rather than what hex/condition.
Helps to know if I take one off if they'll still be useful or not.

I don't see the point, tbh. Sure, it would let monks know what profession hexed you, but the monk still won't have a clue what hex it is. Pinging your hexes is still going to be better.

/notsigned. It's simply not as helpful as it seems to be. High priority hexes should be alt-clicked; you can't tell much from the profession that casted it.

I do not see it very useful. It is rather decorative addition. However I do not see anything against it so /signed

I'm already used to the current system, and the change doesn't confer a significant advantage.
