i finally decided to come back to GW after about 2 years and reinstall the game using the cds then when i wanna load an area it takes about 30 minutes and has to download over 10,000 files!
i cant even do RA because the match is over before i even load and waddle through the lag.
idk but this game has become sort of unplayable for me, its either my computer or Anet's server because alot of people are having this problem now.
i really need help in shorting the loading time is there anything i can do to my computer so it can load faster and experience less lag?
huge problem with loading time!

Use -image to download and extract all of the files. To do this, find your shortcut for Guild Wars, if you have one, and type '-image' (without the quotes) at the end of the Target line. Run that. You'll have to remove the '-image' when you actually want to play the game.

your looking at 2 years of updates and game changes, right click your gw shortcut, goto properties, in the target line type -image at the end of it, it makes you download all the updates and changes to the game so you dont have to download every area and every person and every skill animation and bla blah. when your done downloading remove the -image from the shortcut or else you cant load the actualy game :P

ok i'll try the image thing, but im not sure how i will be able to remove it when i wanna play.

It should look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image
Press ok to make the shortcut that, and fire up the program, let it sit overnight to download everything.
And when it's all done, take the "-image" out, otherwise it'll just want to download everytime you wanna play gw.

back up your GW.Dat file after you have completed the latest download. Next time you decide to uninstall your game, and return, the backup file helps a lot.
