The Adventures of Mordakai Ashblade.

.......This is an old story I wrote a while ago... some characters are people from ingame and on these forums ......




Mordakai was a young boy when the guild wars tore apart his home in Khylo, His father had named him after the great leader of the guild which had owned the Fortress City...

When the Zealots rampaged through his home he fled with his mother and sister while his father fought on, aiding Ascalon's chosen in the fight... His father never returned.

Mordakai was later gifted with his fathers charr hide armor which was dyed blue to remind him of the day he had last seen his father... fishing in the river of regent valley. He later went on to join the vanguard after the searing and become a strong and talented warrior without many flaws however one of his peers always managed to exploit his weaknesses, Kendra... who would later become a legendary explorer under the name Tender wolf, for all his might Mordakai could not dodge her arrows fast enough and in every duel Kendra would outsmart him... sending her wolf pack to humiliate him in defeat. As the months wore on and the training grew harder Mordakai succeeded where many other warriors had failed... he eventually graduated with 3 others.. Kendra the vanguard scout, Jonas the vanguard monk and drunkard and Oldren the vanguard elementalist although very vain he was also a very powerful caster who had survived the charr assault on surmia by summoning several flame djinns, a skill not seen by elementalists since an expedition to the maguuma jungle by flame scepter mages decades ago. This team was chosen to lead the expedition into the Charr homelands in search of charr war plans and prisoners that could be rescued.......

In the next chapter......... Kendra goes missing in the midst of the Nolani Academy siege and Mordakai finds out what really happened to his father all those years ago!!!

As the team adventure further on I will add more and more chapters on this thread I would like constructive criticism from the community on this and future pieces. This is my first piece please bare that in mind! thankyou1

tyvm xD its not as great as some I've seen but im trying to fit it together with guild wars lore like lego :O next chapter up this weekend!

The scorched dust whipped up around Mordakai's feet as he stepped towards the edge of the cliff. In the moonlight he could see the grand silhouette of Nolani academy. The group relied on Oldren for this skirmish as he was the only one who had set foot in the academy before the charr occupation force reached it.

As Mordakai picked up his axe and shield to begin the decent into the valley below, Charr effigies and camp fires littered the valley floor, they would be in for an epic fight.

Kendra summoned a spirit that guided her arrows and pulled her string back...
Oldren lifted up into the air and the sky lit up with flames and volcanic rock started falling over the valley, Mordakai charged into the now alert charr force shouting "For great Justice!" as he felled his first charr, its limbs capped and blood bathing Mordakai's axe, as Mordakai kept swinging his axe into the flesh of the charr, Kendra kept her arrows aflight, they hit with enough force to knock a charr backwards, Jonas called forth the might of balthazar with a ray that blinded nearby foes and burnt them as Balthazar cast his judgement, he then turned his gaze to Mordakai and repeated the words, "Strength and Honor, Strength and Honor", almost instantly Mordakai's axe started glowing with a pure white aura and the Charr's wounds became extra deep. As the fight raged on energy was being worn away, Jonas could not keep up with the onslaught of the charr forces, Kendra dropped her bow and picked up a charr axe, she ran in to help mordakai who had been overwhelmed and was struggling to block the sheer number of charr attacking him, as she did a charr flame keeper cast down a meteor, hitting her in the back and sending her body flailing several feet. Mordakai was then met with another attack from the charr, he took several hits and was constantly shouting for backup, none of the group could aid him....

As Mordakai's shield buckled and all looked as if it was lost, a Pheonix of epic proportions flew over the battlefield, Its feathers like a magnificent rainbow, it rained down shards of ice all over the charr, decimating their ranks and felling Mordakai's attackers, as the charr dropped, the Pheonix dissapeard in a brilliant white spark, as it did, Kendra's body dissapeared...

As the dust settled over the corpses of the charr, the group rested, Jonas in the distance saw a glint of silver, as it's glint got more and more prominent due to the rising sun he went over to investigate. He pulled up a chest that was partially dug out by the charr, It was a solid silver casket. Oldren blew off the shackled and looked inside...

By order of Mordakai, Leader of Ascalon's Chosen and Lord of Khylo...
You Deldren Ashblade are ordered to take the Dragon Key to King Jalis Ironhammer in Shiverpeaks.... As Oldren read the name Mordakai looked over and read with him... Do not lose this key! it may be the saviour of Ascalon, I fear we are on our last legs here in Khylo and will not withstand another attack, take the teleporter we have built, it should work, we hired the very best Ancient Elonian scholars... Our forces will destroy it once you leave!

Mordakai fell to his knees, this was news that his father was not killed at khylo......

Hmm so

Was that a messege he found from his father in the silver casket? I'm a little confused, don't take this the wrong way Ashblade, but your grammer needs work. Still it's a pretty compelling story, keep at it.

Also I'm wondering when does this fit in with the Guild Wars time line, obviously it's after the Searing, but is it before helping Rurik in Old Ascalon?

Ah ok, yes the grammar I know im not an A* in english but yes I'll give it a try. I seem to write like I say it... if that makes any sense? and yes the letter was in the silver casket which we will found out about l8er on, and it takes place 1 year after the searing compared to the 2 that normal prophecies characters end up in, this eliminates the conflicts of Ascalonian refugee's ending up in the shiverpeaks while the characters are there, also Kendra's disappearance was added to fit with her story of getting sent to the future, ofcourse it wont fit exactly but it allows me to bring her in again at a later date.....

p.s the story may seem a bit wishy washy know but it will all fit in nicely once it gets to about chapter 6-7.
