How often do Sand Wurms drop Bleached Shells? Because if they drop as often as Minotaur's drop Minotaur Horns, I'll seriously consider farming them v,v

You get about a 25% chance that they will drop one. The most sand wurms I have seen in a zone is 6. I have farmed them before and there are not enough people wanting to buy them so it is simply not worth the time.

Me and a friend decided to give droknars running a try, since we had all the skills, he'd done it before and we needed the cash. We decided to get the collector shields with stances bonuses for it and found it needed bleached shells, so we got another friend to come along to farm them. What was at the time just what characters we were on at the time was actually a pretty good build for farming them:
Bonder Monk: Life Barrier and Bond on other 2, heals with signet of devotion
Tank: Generic tank build
Curses Nec: Spiteful Spirit etc.
Within 45 minutes we had found 10 shells (we farmed around halfway between dunes of despair and the south entrance to arid sea) and found generally there were about 4-5 in similar places each time.
And as for lack of demand in augury rock half the trade chat is WTB BLEACHED SHELL - i think if you got good at it you could make some serious money fast

I could easily farm them solo, but 10k for 45 minutes of work? Geez.

I consider 20k to be a decent day of dedicated farming, if I'm just playing casually for a few hours. So 10k in less than one hour is very good. Just exactly how high are your aspirations? 1k a minute? When you find a spot that produces like that, please enlighten us. Bleached Shells are a guaranteed 1k sale. I know a guy who used my Sand Wurm build and got about 50 of them in a few days and sold them all as fast as he could get them. The dark side of farming (which I can't bear, personally) is finding a buyer for the weapon or shield you just looted. You have to factor the time it takes to sell something in with the time it takes to obtain it. The entire process from beginning to end is farming, not just killing a monster. I'd much sooner have a commodity which is a guaranteed sale for a guaranteed price than have to spam the trade channel. Bleached Shells are hard to beat for the return on time spent.

The collector stance shield is a very usefull shield, along with the enchanted one,
I farm the area by the entrance to the Arid sea also, just go up the little hill and walk around for awhile and they pop up, after that just go thru the arid sea entrance
turn back around come back in and start again....if you die the rez shrine is right there
just eat a candy cane and keep farming...

ps part of my Griffon farm run brings me close to this area, there are around 23-26
griffons in the area along with the ones outside Augury...

In my experience, that seems comparable to farming griffons, grawl, trolls, etc., unless you get really lucky. I suppose if you were farming etco you would be hoping for better.

I didn't have any problem getting enough bleached shells today alone for my ascalon bow.
I went to Dunes of Despair and killed Seige Wurms. Also while I was trekking from Dunes to Arid Sea, I ran into several Sand Worms.

Um, I just want to say this dudes name completely offends me. I guess you need a few women to view this before anyone actually bothers to say something.
