Possible update soon, maybe or maybe not??
shefdawg
Just was kind of curious if anyone has heard anything about a possible skill set update here sooner or later. I just came back not to long ago and already am getting sick and tired of the game, as im sure most are. One of my biggest problems is that this game is meant to be played with others, and i know a lot of people out there tend to think that PUGS suck but i mean it is an MMO. Other than the Z bounties there really is no puging in this game anymore. Another of my problems is everywhere i go to see if anyone is doing that elite mission all i see is perma sins and its kind of horrendous if you think about it. A game build with grouping in mind, hence the MMO genre, and all see running around dominating the game is perma's from DOA to urgoz to UWSC. Im just wondering if maybe we are going to get an update to stop this soon or what.
One class is all you need to beat the game and farm. I miss the days of pugs and yes some of them were noobs but heck that was the fun of it sometimes. Just kind of curious once again if anything is in sight or should i just leave the game now and go onto something else and write off anet as a bad publisher and developer of the MMO genre.

One leaked before, and I hope more leak in the future. But there will probably be nothing fixed. They messed up Heart of Shadow (how did that happen!? where's your testing now?), the last update only had 3 simple things in it, 2 of which were messed up, and RoJ still dominates JQ (I don't care what anybody says... if it was really "fixed" then I wouldn't see nearly every Monk running it still).
Don't get your hopes up. There is a whole process and board that meets over skill changes which sucks up time and I doubt any of them are as serious or knowledgeable about the game as the players, yet they control change which is why things are stagnant (because they shouldn't be in charge).
(nd a warning) Oh and you will get people responding that this isn't an MMO, it's a CORPG (just because Anet said it, it must be true, right?). I do agree with you, PUGs would make this game fun. Came in only this year to GW and while it has more complexity and stuff to do, the lack of PUGs made me completely disinterested in PvE. There isn't too much of a story and the voice acting is terrible.
That's really all I can say.

I don't understand why people have such problems playing without other people. I haven't grouped with anyone in well over a year, been using Henchman everywhere and no problems here.

I'm pretty sure that if you're "sick and tired of the game" NOW, some random skill changes that Anet usually do won't make you feel any better.

ya u might as well just quit the game is crap these days they can nerf and buff any build they want but thats not gunna change anet and the fact that they just dont give a care

Blow me sideways there was a fairly big skill update less than a month ago, and already you want another one?
Personally I'm getting sick and tired of these threads popping up on almost a weekly basis. If there's going to be an update, it's for A-Net to decide NOT YOU

I pugged a dungeon recently and there were... yes 2 ursans. We managed without an issue. Regardless what people use pugging can still be fun and succesful.
Perma sin will not get a nerf because all those people farming and abusing it 24/7 may just quit gw. They do not want to really play anymore they just need money for some uber expensive minis or weapons or just for their e-peen. I would not miss them myself but for Anet it might be a big loss (less people using online store etc etc).

It's easier for people to complain than say something constructive. It does get tiring with the same old retreaded threads.

It's funny when even the players are like, "You guys all spend your time trying to save a dead game by opening these 'save GW1' threads. Just let the game rot already!" It makes me wonder why they themselves are on a GW1 Guru sight spending their time talking about this dead game to begin with.
PUGing's near-dead
PvP: GvG/HA = 1337istville; HB = /Resign-a-thon, TA = Empty Wastelend and RA = Sync City with a steady-streaming /Qq *report-abuse*
...and last but certainly not least...
The Developers DO NOT CARE.

Investment entrapment. The more time you invest to MMO, the harder it it to quit because by quiting you acknowledge that you were wasting your time on pixels with no value whatsoever ... it is much easier psychologically to just cary on playing.

I agree with you competely.
Quiting is much harder than it is appeared to be, it takes a lot to quit. Saying quiting is easy as it is just word. But if u can quit, then you are brave!

With regards to pugs vs hench......
While i hench everything, I get bored only to log off fairly quickly. I understand the whole pug issues and fully understand you can do "everything" with hench. With that said, honestly i'd probably play more often and have a little bit more fun......if i had a decent group of people to play with.
Atm most of guildies come online to HA.

Actually no. The investment entrapment only applies if you treat the game with long time investment goals.
'Play time' is 'now time', it's not meant to last. You are having fun for the moment, thats your reward. And for some of us a couple of lasting friendships, which carry on over the game itself. It's not that hard to stop or take a long break if the goal lies not in the game itself but beyond it in the purpose of playing a game.
However if your goal is linked to the game itself like accumulating wealth, fame etc. then Zweisteins investment trap theory can apply and farming, power trading, titles, collector items can draw you into a vicious circle.
But it's not a given.
Have fun,
Timebandit

Refer doesn't know the first thing about the process, nor the abilities of the people involved.
