I was actually really excited to see it! Would have loved to have met with the author there at Comic Con. There's a picture of him too on the ArenaNet facebook page if some of you want to see:

To be honest I think he's just glad he finished the project. When you work for months on a project, it's always nice to deliver the endresult. I think it's normal he's looking forward to his next project. Nothing strange imo.
