After Anet hits the jackpot with GW2, know what would be really cool?
A spin-off manga of guild wars.
No. Really.
I think it'd be an awesome idea. And I know a lot of the anet team are fans of anime. So I figure they should try a manga one day if they ever have the finances and are able to milk the franchise a bit more.
Just my idea and hopes that will never come

Difference is, the halo anime is just a poor attempt to woe the Japanese culture. And what they're doing is a whole anime series.
When I think of a guild wars manga, I think only one or two volumes.

You're making alot of big assumptions here, which you have very little fact to back up.

1. GW2 may or may not be released. Sure it is probably in development, but you have no official confirmation of a specific release time.

2. GW2 may or may not suck monkey balls. You don't have a screenshot, you don't have a vid, you don't have any specifics on in-game mechanics and therefore, you have no factual basis to say GW2 will "hit the jackpot." By putting this blind faith in a game you know nothing more than the lore and some general info about, you are proving you are a fanboi.

3. Anet doesn't even have adequate resources to streamline the site, fix XTH, or properly balance and maintain GW1. How and WHY would they ever do something like this, when the whole reason they have fans is because of a game that they apparently can't be bothered to manage anymore. Put more resources into what got them started, the GAME.

4. I don't see a strong enough plot for the manga that we haven't already known about or have a decent knowledge of. Sure it might be entertaining to hear Cynn propose to Mhenlo, but I wouldn't spend money to read the one line. Any lore in GW has seriously failed in comparison post-destruction of a GOD.

5. WoW could release a manga and I know for a fact it wouldn't be too popular (maybe more due to the demographic makeup of WoW players)...but do you think GW can touch that?

It will distract from the GW look-and-feel franchise.

Books and a full-feature movie rather ala LotR (no Uwe Boll, please).

Gwenchan was the only anime/manga I want to see from GW. And the current employees of Anet wouldn't be the ones doing it, they would contract for someone with knowledge and ability in anime/manga to do it. Even so, that would take time, money, and resources they most likely don't have, and never will.

As much as I enjoy manga, I'm not sure if it'd be fitting for Guild Wars. It may be possible, though. Manga generally isn't like Naruto...

Don't need to. A GW's manga wont happen because they already confirmed books.
