...I have no idea where that came from. Anyway, finished the first commish!

The lineart for this was tough. I loved doing the hair and the face (except the mouth... "augh the mouth is open how do I draw this?!"), but the pose... well, it's kinna unoriginal (half generic fireball pose, half actual casting animation), and I know I completely botched her right hand, but whatever. It clicked.
I finally figured out a good way to do the coloring, so that made me happy. Two ways, actually. I lay down an initial layer with the camel brush, then added a darker color and blended the two with the tint blender (much better than the smudger!). About halfway through I figured out that I could use one of the chalk tools with the tint blender to achieve even better highlights and shadows, especially on the hair. So I think I'll be sticking with that from now on.
So yeah! It's good to be back at the tablet... it's hard to get back into, but once I was working it just drew me in. So yay!
EDIT: Ack! Somehow I managed to upload the uncropped version. Oh well; it's not too bad.
