As per my previous thread, i have come back after about a 3 year break.
I wanted to play through the original Prophecies storyline, but i hardly see anyone there. Which prof do you think could solo all of the Prophecies storyline, if any?
I have a 20 Ascended Ranger, so i could theoretically go back and re-do all of the missions with henchmen, and i have an 18 Monk (previously a 55hp Monk), and a 13 Warrior. I also have a level 11 Ele sitting in pre-searing. However, i could make another character if needed.
I would assume that i would need to bring the max number of henchies per mission, however i'm not exactly sure which ones to take. Say i was playing my ranger (who i wanted to try a Beast build with, but i lack the skill points to get the necessary skills from the trainer, and its taking forever to farm 15k exp just to get a single skill point ).
I just want to re-do the storyline missions in Proph, and then Factions. I'm currently playing a Dervish in NF right now, but i want to stop and re-do the storylines in order, as (according to parts of the wikis online), the storylines sort of converge in certain parts.
That, and those Proph cutscenes were great
Anyway, any tips would be appreciated.
If any of you want to contact me in game, character names are as follows:
Kira Chan - 20R/N
Shiroi Madoushi Orz - 17Mo/Me
Ayako Arashiro - 11E/Mo
Sakura Hawado - 7D/W
Solo prophecies?

1st: Before starting, go to Lion's arch and get the book "The flameseeker prophecies", so you get an extra reward when you do missions.
2nd: It was done with henchies in the past and still can. Not as easily as with heroes, but it can be done.
3rd: My rules for henchie selection:
-take 2 monks, if available
-take all the elementalists and warriors
-fill up remaining spots with the best henchie available
Usually, this means Alesia, Orion, Little Thom, Stefan, and then a free pick.

Looking at Sakura, you own a dervish, and therefor got nightfall. So why not go to nightfall with your ranger, pick up some heroes, and go beat prophecies? It's very easy to beat prophecies with a ranger as they have very diverse builds. Just go conditioner or interupter and you're set. HM possible so why not NM
That would be my suggestion.

You mean heroes like Koss? I thought he was the only one that you could get. How do you get the rest, just show up in NF and then do the missions 1 by 1?
So if i have someone run with me to Nightfall areas from Prophecies (i think i'm parked in Lion's Arch right now), i could do all those missions?
I mean if it's possible to go to Nightfall and Factions with a Prophecies character, that would be great. I could probably run it myself (maybe?) with all of the nifty abilities that Rangers get (i also have Warrior unlocked for Sprint as well, but my warrior is only level 13 so i'm not sure if i'm missing something critical for a Running build).
If you could give me a step by step layout on how to run there, that would be awesome. And perhaps a quick overview on how to get the Heroes so i could take them out to go pound some Charr ;p

Koss isn't the only one, by a long way I think there's around 12 ish in NF and another 10 in EotN.
To get to Nightfall/to where you get basic heroes in it, from LA, you have to take a quest from Lionguard Figo (I think). you then go to Lion's Gate, talk to Kormir, beat up some monsters and Kormir takes you to Sun Docks. Talk to the guys there, take the quest from the Zaishen guy, then go into Kamadan and talk to Dehvad. Go into the Plains, talk to kormir, and you get Koss, dunkoro, Melonni and Tahlkora, all at level 15. Then go a little way out into the Plains and talk to the Zaishen guy. Fight Jin and Sousuke, pick which one you want, then go to Zehlon Reach and kill some baddies with them. go back to the Sun Docks and you unlock the one you picked
And to unlock them on your Dervish, just do the quests and missions and you'll get a collection of them

Oh ok, so it gives those four, and then i get to pick up the 5th one in the plains after i kick his butt?
How many heroes can you have in your group at once? Or is that based on the current area you're in (like henchies)?

in Lion's Arch talk to Lionguard Figo and get the quest "Sunspears in Kryta". This will get you to Kamadan. If you then do the NF story your Prophecies character should get all the heroes. If you then do Eye of the North with that character, you get the remaining heroes. And then Prophecies will be very easy...
BTW, at first I misunderstood the title of your post. I thought you wanted to do Prophecies without H/H - just solo it with your character. I think that would be a fun challenge - using all skills of Prophecies / Factions / NF / EotN...

You can have 3 at a time in your group. And if you are doing this with your ranger, take Acolyte Sousuke who is an ele. The others you get at the beginning are two monks (heal & prot), a warrior, and a dervish. The other Acolyte (Jin) is a ranger.
And, if you take the quest and go to EotN, you will get another monk, another ele, and a mesmer to start.
There is also available (from quests on Consulate Docks) a necro and an assassin.
The thing with heros is that you need to make sure you put runes and insigna on their armor, give them good weapons, and pay attention to their skill bars.
Read the stickied thread in Campfire section Heroes & AI subforum for information on what works and what doesn't. Heroes are not you and have different priorities, so not all skills work well on their bars.

Tvalentijn,
Well, originally i meant "solo" as in by myself (with my trusty lynx pet of course). However, i don't have the available skill points to get the beast master skills. Before i quit, i had used all of my skill points for my Ranger Monk/Mesmer/Warrior builds. I don't have Enraged Lunge (or Feral Lunge, can't remember the name), and the main Elite. I mean, my pet can go put the beatdown on some monsters easily enough, while i keep up Troll Unguent on (because i use Symbiotic Bond to keep the pet's health regen going, and halving all of the damage he takes while i cast spells and plink away). However, i haven't noticed a true "aggro increaser" in the game (like a Taunt, Challenge, Provoke, etc to keep monsters stuck on a "tank"). So as it is right now i end up tanking while the pet beats on the mobs.
But yea, with heroes it'll go a lot easier. Can't wait to try it out tonight!
I have been playing with my Dervish, putting up enchantments to do AoE damage, and then removing them with Pious Assault to put Crippled/Burning conditions (from the enchants) and doing more damage (from PA). Awesome profession! I think after i re-do all the missions (and the ones i didn't do), i'll level up Dervish up for Eye of the NOrth!

Personally, I think the quests for traveling to Elona and EotN are easiest when done from Lion's Arch, so I always take my non-Prophecies characters to LA first and then take the quests from there to go to the other campaigns. It's perfectly legal to take, say, a Factions character to LA and then do "Sunspears in Kryta" and "What Lies Beneath" instead of going back to Kaineng to take "Sunspears in Cantha" and "I Feel the Earth Move".

Wow, good information! Thanks a ton!
