It's because of the terrible pve/pvp skill split. PvEers want overpowered skills so they can roll through HARD mode with no problem. There would be no way that anet can put this pve signet in pvp. BTW, not only is signet of spirits like this, you also cant for get unyielding aura and aegis.

Maybe it should a health gain or regen thing for spirits, one that doesn't end up killing those affected (since it's elite). Kinda like Blood of The Master for Spirits.

That's because Spyder changed focus half-way through the thread when he/she realized that people thought it was stupid. Also, I forgot to mention that Armor of Unfeeling now has a different functionality as well in PvP. So we're up to what? 6 skills that are better off with different functionalities.

It's a good thing for the game.

And? As I said in my first post, I was ranting. I never said I had a solution to fix this or how this affects anyone. I just think in general, that it is stupid.

My basis is this. Why have two completely different spells combined in one? I used SoS as an example. Originally, SoS gave you energy. Then the update came, and they changed to PvE version to something completely different and now it gives you spirits. Instead of doing that, they could of just made a new spell called "Summon Spirits" that would of done the same and then have no need to change an already existing spell.

But instead, they felt it necessary to have two completely different spells, and combine them into one spell. And then have it change in PvP/PvE. Yes there is other spells like this. I know this. I'm using SoS as my example.

My point is, why have one spell with two completely different uses depending on PvP/PvE, when it would of just been easier to have them as two different spells? The spells have no similarities in any way at all. So why have it as one spell? If a spell is changed in PvE/PvP, it is usually a slight modification from the original, but still has the same affect. This spell in general, and others, are two complete opposites.

Like I said before. I was just ranting about how ridiculous it is to have one spell with two completely opposite and different uses depending on whether you are in PvP or PvE. They should of just made a seperate spell for "Master Togo's Spirits" instead of changing an already existing spell. When you go into PvP, you expect small changes to your skills, but this is a huge difference to one spell when you switch to PvE/PvP.

The only reasonable complaint I see here is that the two versions still have the same name.

They don't remove skills from the game and have never added a completely new one (to an already released campaign), most likely because of programming complexities and policy. Their only options if they want to add new functionality to a skill that just wouldn't be balanced in either PvP or PvE is to nerf the offending version into oblivion, or just make the versions have different functionalities.

I don't think it deserves it's title as an elite skill in PvP, but changing that would probably cause a rage storm.
