Don't go H/H from Prophecies -> Elona though, henchmen are far too low levels and will get wiped out in one AE. Either go with friends, or H/H from Cantha. At least there your henchmen will be level 20 and you can bring a full team of 8. Biggest threat this path are the Wrathful Storm as they use Meteor Showers/Fire Storm, so get ready to flag your hench around.

Actually, I made it through from Prophecies to Nightfall last night. Though the henchmen are low, there are ways to work around this. First off, remember, you have a party of 4 additional heros or NPCs following you. Also note, they are following you specifically, not your party members.

My strategy was basically to use myself as a fallguy. I picked a full party of henchmen, including the healer, cultist, fighter, brawler, and mage. I set the rally point for my henchmen (using the flag below the minimap) to a safe location, away from where I wanted to fight.

Next, I charged my enemies solo. This would leave my henchmen behind, but cause the NPC heros to charge with me. This would also usually result in my quick demise. While dead, I would watch the NPC heros pound on the group of enemies I wanted killed. When the enemies where about 1/2 life, I canceled the rally point. My allies would charge into combat, resurrect me, and we would quickly win the fight.

Honestly, I tried for 2 hours using several other strategies and stumbled upon this one towards the end. Once I found this trick, I beat the mission in one go through, and mind you I was level 11 at the time.
