This is a two-part guide:
1. Enabling always-on target display/calling
2. Keybinding tips for the numpad, esp. for left-handed mouse users

1. Enabling always-on target display/calling

You can lock a Ctrl key in Windows to make all of your actions called, so that Heroes/Henches will follow all of your targets without you having to press the Ctrl key. Of course this might be annoying to other humans in the team, but if you're H/H-ing, it's a handy way to make your party automatically follow your calls all the time.

If you additionally bind the same Ctrl key to the "Show Targets" function, then you will see target labels as soon as they come within range. This is a handy way to quickly assess targets without cycling through them.

Surprisingly, having the Ctrl key locked does not interfere with any game functionality as far as I've discovered, except that pressing Esc while Ctrl is locked will switch over to the Windows Start Menu (in which case you just need to go back to the game window).

Here's how to do it:
a. Optionally assign the Ctrl key to the "Show Targets" function from the Guild Wars Menu -> Options -> Control dialog. (Note that currently a bug prevents you from assigning the *right* control key, but you can assign the left one.)
b. In Windows, go to Control Panel -> Accessibility Options (in XP, not sure about Vista)
c. Check "Use StickyKeys"
d. Click on Settings for StickyKeys. I suggest having "Press modifier key twice to lock" and "Show StickyKeys status on screen" and the other options un-checked.
e. Now that lock is enabled, you can press the Ctrl key twice in quick succession to toggle the lock mode on/off.

Note that occasionally you need to try a couple times before the lock mode stays on for more than a couple seconds, and you need to re-enable it after re-zoning. But otherwise it seems to work smoothly.

2. Keybinding tips for the numpad, esp. for left-handed mouse users

As a left-handed mouse user I've found the following key mapping to be the most efficient. I thought I'd post it for other numpad fans to try. I also include suggestions for the arrow keys and nearby {Home, End, Del, PgUp, PgDn, Ins}.

Tips:
- Use Target-Nrst-Foe, Target-Next-Party to reliably target party member #1
- Use Target-Nrst-Foe, Target-Next-Item to reliably target nearest item
- Use Command-Party and Clear-Party-Cmd to quickly direct H/H
