Elonian characters dont gain exp for pre-lios arch tyrian missions?

I just got my new para to lions arch, then a run to ascalon, etc etc, then, proceeded to do the great northern wall mission+bonus, but didnt get the exp for either after completion. whats up with that?

its been that way since Factions was released. For characters coming over from Cantha and Elona, their story starts with Seaboard. They can however get Mission reward from Gates of Kryta. Thats just how it is. The same goes for Tyrian and Elona Characters going to Cantha. They can't get rewards for the Shing Jea missions, only Square and past.

I guess the sole purpose to do them is just for guardian title...

Well, that's only half true. You get the normal rewards for doing the missions in HM.

Oddly enough, Tyrian and Canthan characters DO get experience and money for doing missions on Istan, even in NM.

"Your party contains characters not from <Campaign name>. Do you still want to enter this mission?"

Also, in retroperspective, it's good that non-Nightfall characters get rewards from Istan missions, seeing as they grant SS points on completion. The fact that Nightfall characters can get to EotN at level 10 because they virtually start off in their port city means that they get to level up faster once they hit level 10 anyway.

For non-Tyrian characters, yes, the only reasons for doing them would be for titles or z-quests or grins, basically. But, they are all good reasons.
