gw society makes it so that everybody has to dye their hands white and armor black ? o_O

Do what you want, GW society has a bad sense of fashion.
Why did you make 2 threads for this?

what exactly is GW society?

He means the community.
Just dye your gloves whatever color you want. Black or White doesn't mean you are the coolest person ever. It's just a color. In my opinion, Black is a terrible color. It takes all the detail out of your armor.
Mix and Match dyes. Find a color that is unique and be your own person. Don't follow the crowd.

I personally just try to get away with purple, silver/white, or yellow on everything. Those colors are the best IMO.

Get Destroyer Gauntlets then. Been awhile since I've seen those :P
Yeah but Chaos Gloves are extremely common these days. I see them all the time now. If you're set on getting them, dye them yellow or something. Most people do Pink, Red, or Blue nowadays.

Extremely common because money in GW is so easy to get now a days, that things like tormented weps and such are pocket change for most people.

Dye your gloves/armor whatever color YOU prefer. But, if you're interested in what "GW society" thinks, consider this: Coming up with a good looking dye combination for your armor will get you more "nice armor / cool color" comments than having black dyed stuff.

I cannot agree more. On my female monk I thought itd be cool to buy kurzick armor (standard) and dye it a mix of blue/green because i did not recall ever seeing it before. I go to ToA because at the time i was into fow sc and many people would tell my my armor is cool. Two weeks later, I start noticing many male monks with the same color combo on the same armor and even some female monks. I'm 100% positive i did not "create" this armor scheme but i only started noticing how people would tell me how cool it looks then id see other people with it two weeks later

Anyway, I'd just go with with the color it comes in, grey.

I hope you're not planning on getting something just to impress other people. People really don't care about what armor you're wearing or what title you've got. A unique armor combination or dye color may get some attention but I've never seen it happen.

Fight the man. Black + White. Be so much cooler than everyone else that they don't even realize you're cooler than them.

This forum needs an Agony Aunt section.
Dear Aunty Abby
I bought some new gloves but no one will talk to me any more, they say I have no fashion sense.
Dear Reader
Take no notice people can be so cruel about these things etc etc

Green is the answer to all of your problems.

Purple / Green / Blue ftw! Gogogo!

I use green, yellow and silver for most of my armor sets. Like the color at the moment.
After almost 5 years everyone will have enough money. If all get an assassin char. (at the moment) everyone will have even more money...

Green and silver mix looks really nice. The silver dye seems to bring out the armor pattern, making it look more defined/crisp. It just comes down to what you really like colour wise. Maybe experiment a few dyes to find out what suits you the most

I never liked the look of Chaos gloves, and I like them even less now that everyone and his dog has them. In fact, I don't like the look of any of the EotN gloves. I think the guys who design good looking gloves must be working on GW2 and left the EotN glove design to someone who likes things big and ugly or really, really shiny. If the same guys had designed the glasses, they'd be really big and have things sticking out everywhere like a carnival costume.
That being said, I did get the chaos gloves for my Mesmer, for the "bling". They are not quite so over the top (just the hands, no arms).

Today in my guild hall:
Oh, heavens! Whatever shall I do? I would really hate to be on the outs with GW Society!

*knock, knock* Yes? Who is it? GW society. We've had some complaints about your characters. Like what? For one thing, none of them have Chaos Gloves. Well, no. I don't like the looks of them and the glowiness hurts my eyes. Uh, huh. For another thing, not ONE of your characters, even your monk, has a set of armor dyed black. We KNOW you have 40+ black dye, so there's no excuse for this. Hey, my monk's scalp tattoo is black! I thought it went quite well with his silver/white Judge's armor and black/silver Undead weaponry. Pretty sharp looking, if you ask me. My ele just prefers gold armor, which looks great with his weapon sets. (Have you seen his elite Kurz set? Gold trim really stands out on the black & gray base, and goes nicely with the amber jewels! Dying it black would be dull, dull, dull -- making him look goth or something. Meh.) My ranger, given the huge amount of brown in most ranger armor sets, thinks ... Stop. GW Society isn't buying your explanations. Standards must be maintained. We'll give you one week, and then we'll be back. Good day to you, sir. |

Don't be a noob wannabe thats W/Mo with Obsidian Armor, Choas Gloves, Crystalline or Eternal Swords, with a tormented shield.
There are just simply too many of those types. Not only are they super ugly, you could effectively make an unique and interesting style with just a simple imagination and a fraction of the cost.
Get Destroyer Gloves, Get Glacial Gloves, Get Stone Gauntlets - those three elemental gloves are probably the best looking in the game.

Just get an elite armor set you like, dye it in same color, and add weapon that goes well with armor.
Don't mix too much, 'cuz that looks funny if you don't mix it right.
I bought chaos gloves only for my ele, 'cuz she looks nice in them.
But I'd never buy them for warrior, or ranger or any non-caster proffession.
Not even for mesmer.
Only ele, monk and ritualist girls can look nice in chaos gloves.
Destroyer are good with most deldrimor armor parts and destroyer weapons.
But glacial and stone are ugly.
Dragon ones can look cool on some warrior or ranger, but they have too much clipping.

omfg are you serious? do whatever you want. All 10 of my characters have the armor I liked best for that class - a little bit of fow, mostly not. Most are a mix of elite and non elite pieces, just what I liked best. When people tell me to get fow on this char or that char, I just laugh. and imho chaos gloves are ugly, I'll never own a pair, but I do have a bunch of torm weapons cause I like them.
