Out of GW Utopia http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Utopia
or Eotn

in my opinion they shouldnt of canceled Utopia an went on to eotn ...

utopia would of had new proff
the wiki page says new races(Sidhe)
new professions
most likely less title grind
a new setting(Aztec)
Chronomancer concept art looked wicked
would of had heros most likely

eotn isnt very fun imo
you have to do books or grind to get the armor(easy but annoying)
an expansion and not a complete game
dungeons are fun

read this and though about it

But, in fact, the restrictions of the every-six-months model meant the team found itself perpetually wistful over what didn't make it into the game.

“We sat down to discuss what was going to go into Campaign 4 and realised we couldn't do all the things we wanted,” says Game Designer Eric Flannum. “Why? Partly because we'd need more time [than six months], and partly because some ideas wouldn't work well with things we'd done before.”
or maby utopia just went to becoming gw2?

GW2 probably. If you think about it, in the long term it would have been better to build into something else. As the devs said, they just wanted to put more and more stuff in and eventually what they had wouldn't have worked as a 4th campaign. Hence, EotN was made to bridge the gap from GW1 to GW2.

PS: More professions and more skills isn't a good thing.

EDIT: I do like Aztecs though, that is a downside.

I would've much rather they put time into balancing, fixing, and qualitizing both PvE and PvP. Personally I would've probably gotten a lot more longevity out of a properly done existing PvE game world than a slightly expanded shallow one.

A lot of what was to be Utopia wound up in eton....though in a very very unfinished way.

I would have loved to have seen what they could have done with it instead of the cheap, hurried, slapped together thing they called eye of the north.

I would much rather HAVE had Utopia finished and then had them move to GW2. The waiting difference would have been minimal and we would have had a brand new campaign to keep us occupied.

Eotn dungeons are awesome. The Hall of Monuments was a good idea too. rest of eotn sucks though. don't like the sandbox questing. imo there are already too many skills and profs in gw as it is. Glad to hear gw2 is gonna have less.

i had never heard about utopia until now, reading that i would have much rather have had that it sounded very fun, eotn was epic fail I expected better and it was rushed "because they wanted to put more effort into GW2" I don't see gw2 yet and I wonder if it will have the same effort as something like eotn.

Its Human nature to want something that looked attractive when proposed but was later abandoned, imo it would have failed in the long run.
If utopia would have made gw2 appear faster then yes I would have liked Utopia.
If it caused GW to collapse and all future incarnations to be abandoned then no.

The concept of adding 2 professions and extra skills with each expansion would cause even more horrendous problems than we have now.

For me GW was a game system that was almost perfect and loads of fun to play.
Now we can look forward to GW2 with many of the problems anet and the players have discovered ironed out.

I agree with Marty on both these points, 2 new classes would have made the game even more impossible to balance than it is now.
And the idea of a Aztec themed campaign with ruined cities and temples and stuff is pretty cool sounding. Personally i think they have probably put alot of the ideas from Utopia into GW2 , and i hope Chronomancer is a playable class in GW2 , it looks like a pretty awesome profession and A-Net have already said that GW2 will feature new playable classes so hopefully thats where the idea has ended up*crosses fingers*.

How about if Utopia was the same kind of crap as GWEN, just more of it?!

New classes and skills would have been more balance trouble than we already have now. I will gladly give up the Chronomancer and any other fun and new things in order to keep the game more balanced, or at least a little easier to balance.

I was growing kinda tired of stomping through any new content on my fully fledged Ranger and Necromancer anyway. Time for something new.

It's my understanding that the bulk of Utopia's ideas went into GWEN. We see it in the Asuran areas.

Since I've seen nothing of GW2, because there's nothing to see and EOTN was a crapshoot.

I would have taken Utopia over EOTN/GW2 anyday.

If anyone says they would have rather had EOTN/GW2 over Utopia, not because EOTN was good (was horrible in my opinion) but because they think GW2 will "rox their sox" then they are a fanboi, because there is not sufficient info to show that GW2 will be in any way unique, thrilling, or an enjoyable gaming experience.

Aztec-inspired stuff would definitely have been cool, though that was ported into EotN with the Asuran areas.

Don't care much about extra professions or skills. And to be honest, adding another playable race at that point would have been a bit silly. I prefer how in GW everyone's just a normal human anyway - makes it feel just that bit more immersive, and I like the different cultures available that characters can be from.

More professions would have been a horrible idea. We (arguably) have too many already. Dungeons were indeed fun.

I'd rather have GWEN. Utopia just sounded like the Asura lands all over again, with maybe the land of time or whatever as the only original place. I'd rather have some different types of environments (unlike NF's desert, desert, and more desert, poisoned sulfur desert and nightmare desert)

If it was possible, then I'd have Utopia -> Eotn -> GW2. Then we'd have a bit more to keep us occupied. Although new prof + more skills = harder balancing. But, if I had to choose, Utopia.

I would have Utopia -> Eotn -> GW2

As for the new classes sure why not, though it would be hard to balance because of all the skills, but it still could be done, but oh well, can't dream about what could have been done, just gotta wait forever for Gw2....anywho
