When is the next big 3 month content update?
Dawn Angelheart
I assumed it was soon, so i thought i would ask? or could i be getting the months wrong?
Solas
Afaik the 3 month mark is soon enough.
Weather an update will come is another matter, Think O'brien said that they never never said anything about updates being quarterly that was just assumed by the community.
Hopefully It'll be a surprise after the massive QQ over the last one.

3 months? Wasn't it every 4months...I read when theya nnounced it somewhere it was every 4 months an content update

It was never guarenteed to be every 3 months, nor was it guarenteed to be every 4 months, they said quarterly... which would be January - March, April - June, July - September and October - December. That would also assume that they actually intend to be on time with it. For the time being they still have well over a month, almost 2 to keep their word... but we'll see. I will be very pleased and surprised, regardless of what the content update will be, if the update is actually on time.

As Zidane pointed out they have definitely officially said that they will basically be releasing content updates quarterly.I doubt we'l say more than one or two more up to GW2 beta (hopefully).

Your sentence amounts to misinformation, as people will tend to read this as "definitely officially said quarterly", omitting the qualification you threw in there. What is so hard about saying "they have definitely officially said every 3-4 months"? This statement is factually accurate and does not give anyone a false impression by converting clear language actually used by ANet into a muddy interpretation like "basically quarterly". It encourages people who read posts like yours and don't see posts like Zidane's to accept this interpretation as official information, when it is not.
I don't mean to take off on you, personally, Xsiriss. It's just that I keep seeing this same thing over and over, and it isn't helping the situation. Obviously ANet is going to miss their window anyway, but harping on "quarterly" just raises the level of dissatisfaction even more. Which does not help promote rational discussion.

Rationality is not something anet believe in when it comes to the community.

*sigh* i have no idea how so many people get confused and misinterpret the original statement. the community cant be that dumb, can it? i think a lot of it has to do with a lot of people not reading the original dev update, rather hearing it through "broken telephone". to be honest though, i wish anet would make a new "official" statement just to clear up all the confusion. i'm assuming the reason they're not doing so, is because they cannot follow the original timeline and have no flipin clue as to what timeline they will be able to follow.
to op: no one knows (especially not anet lol)
but it really shouldn't be too hard to count...
april -> may (1 mo) -> june (2 mo) -> july (3 mo) -> aug (4 mo)
if they do manage to meet their original timeline, we should get it by the end of this month. if they don't manage to meet their original timeline, then no one knows.

Soon or within the next month. People need to relax about these things. Do you guys worry ulcers into your own stomach about GW 1 or GW2 everyday?
Hell, Back when factions had just come out wasn't it a "new game every 6 months" or some other BS like that?

you skipped the math classes didn't you? this calculation would be ok if they had released an update in June, they did not. The first of these was in April, so its almost 4 months w/o content update.

So, the update should* be by the end of September.
*Does not mean it will.

You know, if you bothered to think for 2 seconds yourself, consider "quarterly", I've already stated. Just because they released an update in april, does not mean the next quarter starts... quarter is 4 months yes... but doesn't necessarily mean from last update. Again, I will reiterate for those that don't bother to pay attention and still feel need to try to bash others because of this... January - March, April - June, July - September, October - December. If the last content update was at the "beginning" of the 2nd quarter, that doesn't mean next quarter starts. And it also means that they can release the update any time during the next quarter, provided they keep their word. So they very well could have released it in the beginning of July, and in equal fairness has until September 30th to keep their word. So next time you decide that you want to try and bash someone for something, think it through. And for the record, yeah I did skip math class, along with all of the other classes that all of the work had been finished in, coming out on the top of the class everytime, not that it's your business.
Fril Estelin
When a business says "quarterly" (4 times a year) or "every quarter", they universally mean "January-April-July-October" or respectively "every 3 months". It's fixed and doesn't shift depending on interpretations.

@Chrisworld - the every six months was changed due to problems caused by too many new skills/professons in the PvP; which is why they announced they would be bringing out GW2 instead of continuing with the current game.
