I am wondering,if i call my target and my heroes and henchies go after that target,is there any way to stop them and make them randomly attack as they would if i didnt call target in first place?

i ask this because i bring many types of heroes and not all of them are adjusted for just 1 type of opponent

They will attack your called target. If you don't call your target, they should choose their own.

Sounds like you have something like a Mesmer set for anti Melee and a Ranger set for interrupting. So if you call a caster in the back, the Mesmer will be attacking the caster and have little to contribute while the enemy warriors are pounding on you.

Not to worry much. They use their skills pretty well, and don't waste certain things. For example, a the Ranger will interrupt anything it can, even if the target you call isn't casting. So if you have called an Elementalist that has already used long recharge spells and is now wanding until recharge, but a Necro nearby is casting it will switch targets to use an interrupt, then switch back to normal attacks on the called target.

But no, there isn't away to make them target on their own. Either they all target what you call, or they all target what they want.

...which, if you're a melee class, will nine times out of ten be who you're attacking, especially if you'd rather they didn't. (a major problem for Assassins since, of course, it keeps them from getting combos off reliably and making using lead & off-hand skills with recharges greater than 4-5s a bad idea)

I thought that with Heroes they will just attack whatever you're attacking in the first place?

i guess everyone forgot a crosshair icon that can be used to lock the hero's target.

Call your target, click the crosshair icon in the hero's UI, switch to another foe.

majikmajikmajik is correct. Each "Hero" has a target button which lets you fix that hero on 1 particular target. Open the hero's action bar, select the enemy you want and click the icon on it.. now your hero will focus on that target.. ignoring what your doing or calling.

Check the attached image for the icon/button I'm talking about..

It doesn't work as most people think. I have locked my Gwen on a Ele boss to keep it from casting much/any and switched to a Rit healer in the group to take it out first. However, with me being the only other one on the team with interrupts, I have seen the Rit healer get interrupted when I wasn't using an interrupt. Gwen was locked on the boss, but the boss wasn't casting and she had an interrupt available, and used it on the Rit. Not as easy to see with ranged foes, as they usually are in range to hit multiple targets without moving. Melee, however, you would see this as they would have to move from one to the next, and since they normally won't reach the target in time, never do. In short, if they are in range to use a skill, it won't matter what target they are attacking, they will use a skill on an available target when/if they can.
