I will be attending PAX in Seattle again this year. I know last year Areanet was present at the NcSoft booth and had alot of activities throughout the 3 days. A party for guild wars players that Saturday night with awesome prizes given away by Regina. They had a panel also if I remember right called Three years of Guild Wars, that was great also. I looked on Guild Wars website under trade shows and did not see any mention of what they have planned this year. I have not been on this site in along time and have not kept up with all the latest information. Has there been any news on what they have planned at PAX 2009? Thanks for your time.

Before I was thinking that they would give the "big splash" at PAX. But now, I'm actually thinking at PAX will just be information on the three books (not that book information is bad, especially since I'm a lore lover). I think the GW2 info will be more around the holidays. Maybe around Halloween. *shrug*
I was planning on going but I opted to actually come now (I'm at Izzy's house right now!) as University starts around PAX time, but I have good news people, ex-Treacherous Empire GvG tournament player and ex-Calvin Klein male model Alex "Kar" M. will be there!
He's kinda pissed I'm not going now because he thought I was EHEHEEHE.
And yes he was actually a professional male model:

Well if you're here now, you missed the nice weather (2 weeks ago), and are getting to enjoy the more typical overcast rainy dreariness the area is famous for.

I did also the mention of a trailer next week at ... Gamescom? Not holding my breath for that, however!

People would be even more "surprised" if there is still nothing to show at PAX (or GamesCom).

. But we will see what happens in the near future, I think something is happening though because the wording on when info will be released has changed from "later this year" to "very soon" this wording change is no accident.J

Don't expect any GWish on GamesCon. Why?

But, and I'm just asking out of genuine curiousity here, having never been to a games convention (I is poor
), wouldn't ANet have their own stand that's separate from NCsoft's? I mean, even if it was, figuratively speaking, a canteen desk with a paper tablecloth, they'd be able to showcase their own things that way. From what I've picked up here, most people still consider ANet to have at least a smidgen of independence.

At that point I would personally start to find good sized stones to throw at Martin

I think heavy small stones are better if you are accurate.

So many threads, so much speculation. I think it's safe to say that everyone will be keeping a close eye on these conventions to see whether Anet will wake up from their (almost) 3 year long hibernation to actually show something. I personally won't be expecting too much but hey, you never know.
