hero monk spells wont stay
werefenrir1
im a derv and i have tried to make my heroes cast spells like mending or retribution on me but as soon as they do the spell ends. Is there something i can do to stop this from happening so that the spells last until I end them?

Some scythe skills remove enchantments. As do some other Dervish skills. If it happens when just auto attacking, could be something else.

I can't help but notice the spells you mention are maintained enchantments. They have to be disabled and then manually cast by you, otherwise the hero will immediately pull them off.
Shift-click on the skill on the hero's bar to disable it, then force them to cast the spell on you. It'll stay.

As zelgadissan stated, Hero's won't maintain enchantments outside of a battle, if your in a fight they will cast and maintain these enchants, but once the battle is over.. so are the enchants. you need to manually disable these skills and then force the hero's to cast them.

Just some relevant points:
- Your Hero's AI can be told to disable certain skills. This prevents the AI from using that skill unless you specifically tell it to (as described above). To do this, shift click the skill icon. A red circle with a slash through it will appear over the skill. Shift click again to re-enable the skill.
- Heroes won't stop to (re)cast enchantments and spells when running. If you want them to maintain or cast enchantments, you will have to stop from time to time (for instance, a Necromancer hero will cast Jagged Bones on dying minions when not moving, but if you keep running, he will let the minions die).
- Heroes will only cast "maintained" enchantments (i.e. the ones with -1 energy upkeep cost) during combat; otherwise, they will be cancelled after a short delay. To stop them from cancelling, disable the skill (as explained above), and activate it manually. The only known exceptions are Mending, Divine Boon, Unyielding Aura, Blessed Aura, and Watchful Spirit.

(Not sure if that's what you meant or not but thought i'd add my 2 cents)

i think he meant regular enchants... like a monk wont cast prot spirit on you if your just standing there. although they will heal if you are losing health through degen while out of battle.

He mentioned Mending and Retribution so i think he was talking about maintained enchantments.
Remember also that this kind of enchantments can be maintained only inside a certain distance, which is slightly larger than the radar radius. This means that if you go too far from your bonder (the hero who cast the enchantments on you), the enchantments will expire.
