How does Faction-specific armor work?

recently i got my elite Kurzick elite armor for my ritualist, and thats all well and good, but when i talked to others about getting Luxon armor for my Necro, they made it sound real complicated, making it sound like its not really possible since my guild is Kurzick and i already had alot of points invested into the 'friend of kurzick' title. can anyone tell me how this process works?

All you need is more unspent luxon faction that unspent kurzick faction and then the luxon armourers will speak to you.

Your friends are very mistaken.

In order to get Luxon armor, you first need to get your necro through Luxon territory to the crafter. Then you need all the materials (obviously), and when you're ready to make the armor, you need more unspent Luxon faction than Kurzick faction so the crafter will talk to you. The hardest part will be getting all the Jadeite (the Luxon equivalent of Amber).

Just to clarify - that is more Luxon Faction than Kurzick faction, like when you hit "H" to look at the totals . It's not the level of your "Friend of the Kurzick" title.
You can simply spend all of your Kurzick (that you can) and then start accumulating Luxon Faction. You may need to get 10,000 "unspent" Luxon to advance far enough into Luxon territory to get the armor (or you may be able to work around it, I forget.), but you only need more Luxon than Kurzick for the crafter to talk to you.
You can, of course, get Luxon faction simply by killing stuff while under the blessing from a Luxon priest (at a rez shrine). You can bribe the Luxon priest, when you need to.

This question is extremely easily answered by talking to a Rare Material Trader in the game.
