Guild wars 2 ~ events

howdy everybody, not sure if this is in the right section and if its a load of rubbish so sorry in advance! ^^;

like everyone does, i've been checking out the guild wars 2 articles on the wiki, and on the official GW and GW2 wiki both articles say that [link=http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Event_System]events[/link] will occur, does anyone know if this is true?, obviously like lots of things there will be flaws in th concept but does anyone else think it would be fun? for me it would add more life to the game rather than having an enemy that only becomes fiercer the further you advance in the story, the enemy would play a part in everyday life , if your character walked into an area and one of the events happened.
although it has the potential to kill lower level characters if there were monsters that spawned with the event they would obiously be the right level e.t.c. but does anyone know if this is likely to be included in the game? since it doesn't have loads of information on it. again sorry if this is a loada rubbish D:!

Anet once made an example of how events would work in the game. The idea was that perhaps a dragon would begin attacking a bridge and you would have the choice to fight it off. Depending on the outcome something would then lead on from it like say if you drove the dragon off workers would come to fix the bridge leading to a quest to help them. This was 2 years ago when they first announced GW2 so nobody really knows if they are still doing this.

Obviously if they did manage to pull it off (hopefully) then low levels would still have the choice to avoid the event. Though i'm pretty sure they mentioned in an interview that NPCs would join in if there werent many players in the area. We'll have to wait and see if they managed it.
