What if they removed Shadow Form?

ok lets be honest shadow form and made a lot of ppl a lot of money, both in game and even out of game it would seem

at this point the economy is..........stable, even though things are grossly overpriced for those of us that cant/choose not to perma our way to riches

ecto price doesnt change much and things are holding steady


but what if they nerfed shadow form by completely changing it and making it no longer a farming skill........some of you will say 600/smite, mist form, obs flesh, etc. etc.


but if this skill was removed how would it change the game economically

your thoughts???

It will change the economy, but I doubt it's going to be helpful.

and why would people want to destroy an element of the game for this anyway? Don't you people wanna have fun??

That. The speed clear mechanic is an exploit of the mechanics of triggering the end-chest of high-end areas to appear. Shadow Form builds just happen to currently be the easiest/fastest/most convenient known way of abusing these mechanics.

Not much would change in the long run.

Would probably send ecto prices up about 1-2k more. I would be more interested in the player feedback.

The world would live in harmony, complete with chirping birds and squirrels running merrily at our feet.

The clouds would part, the sun would shine down upon us, and pretty little faeries would fly around the towns of Tyria singing merry praise down upon all of the 600 monks while they laughed at the silly perma-sins now crying in the corner in shame.

Unicorns would fly across the skies while vomiting sunshine and farting rainbows.

Secondly, what if they (A.net) started hacking peoples accounts, started gold selling until peak oil and then shut down their servers without warning?

While I do not like Shadowform and think that it should never have been in the game. At this point removing it will have no noticeable effect upon the economy.

Everything that could be farmed has now been overfarmed. The past years of this won't be erased by changing what allowed this overfarming. Without putting something new worth farming (which would require new content), there will just not be much of any real change.

Everyone will leave the game, no one will play anymore, exactly how the Permasin users at the moment have predicted. Because everyone lives for SF.

SF isnt the ONLY way to make good money. yea, you have UWSC, but theres 600/smite, GvG ZQuest (can make a good 300k off of this one), power trading, etc etc

ecto will go up a couple of k
and i dont think they will nerf it becasue people still seem to fail uwsc and fowsc with sf
more than 75% of the time pug groups fail at uwsc

why would you blame the economy on perma sins, if anything they have made items more affordable for those who cant perma or dont want to perma. so what is the problem here?

how do they make things more affordable? simple math i have the only ecto i could sell for millions of gold, oh wait a perma sin just did a uwsc and got 3 ecto dropped to him crap my ecto lost value.....

thus, making the economy of the game better for those of us who dont have stacks of ectos.

likewise for the high end chest items, if you had the only one you could charge ungodly for a obby edge, but if permas keep farming them they will eventually become more affordable for everyone. so i say GO PERMA'S GO, DO THE GW WORLD A FAVOR AND FARM THE SHIT OUT OF EVERYTHING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM.

same thing that happened when ursan was removed, lots of QQing ectos and shards rise and then a week later theres a new farming build

A bunch of people would complain, a bunch more people would cheer, the economy would slowly over a period of months (or even a year or two) return to pre-SF levels, and most importantly, people would be able to say the words "game balance" with a straight face again.

There would probably be a mass suicide. To be honest.
