Oh my! Well, since I still have not managed to get my characters drawn (patiently waiting in Espadon's queue, all other artists cancelled before getting to my commish), I'll enter. Also because this seems like a nice gray area comic and I've really liked it so far. So here goes (figured the Ranger was the best one for the job):
Name: Jiyū Sakurai
Profession: R/Rt BM
Age: Born 19th Suzhen 1561 CC (79th day of Scion, 1051 AE) - age 21 at the time of the Plague
Birthplace: a flat in Kaineng City
Comrade or Villain?: comrade, though she's not "good" per se; kind of Chaotic Neutral, I'd guess
General attitude: Serious, tough, a bit cold with strangers, but cool-tempered, with an underlying streak of gallows humor and a love for tigers.
Gods: She's not an atheist (hard to be when the gods constantly meddle in world affairs, haha), but she's perfectly happy minding her own business and letting them mind theirs.
Appearance:
Variations from references: Not much; she's perhaps a bit leaner than ingame and she is NEVER that clean-looking - soot and dirt have a tendency to stick, especially in the fur she likes to wear. Also, forgot to include a reference, but she uses a Ritualist staff (usually Communing), not a bow.
Background (first person, because it better reflects her personality - and no, the accent is not vital; it's just fun to write):
"I was born in Kaineng, though I guess that's not saying much. M'father's a failed dye trader, m'mother's an artisan. Lived in the slum, same's every other real Canthan kid on the continent. They always wanted me to do something else, though, get out of that dump. Guess that's why they named me Freedom. S'pose that's what everyone wanted, really, to get out - but we got lucky. Sort of. Got an aunt 'n' uncle, living out on the edge, in Sunjiang. They've got some money, not enough to get out but enough to live well's you can in a ten-by-ten. Their fool kid Arisa got herself kicked out of Shing Jea, broke their hearts, ran away to join the stinking Am Fah. They figured she'd ruined their shot, been shamed, lost their chance for one of them to get out. So when m'parents asked if I could move in wi'them, they figured they'd got another chance at getting it right. I was twelve, then. Crowded there, but we were close to the valley, 'n' I'd take off, run 'round in the grass, scare 'em half dead. Was the first time in my life I'd seen plants, REAL plants, not those stupid scrawny weed things that'd pop up in the planks back home. And the tigers! Oh, I saw those great orange cats 'n' right then I knew what I'd do when I got out. Packed me off to Shing Jea a few months back. Trained up, found Yuki, 'n' here I am now. Guess I'm real lucky - I'm finally out."
Why she should be in the comic: To me, at least, the comic seems fitting for characters that don't live in the black and white. Jiyu's mainly about survival, about keeping Yuki fed and staying alive. She's also got a strong hit of wanderlust, probably connected to being penned up in that little flat for so long. She'll work for anyone, so'long's she doesn't know of anything they're doing that's plain-and-clear wrong. So I could definitely see her as a mercenary (with Reyla, mayhap?), or perhaps working for the baddies if she doesn't know it.

character name: Terry Tzu (Ztu?)
age: 9001
birthplace: Norwa- Uh. I mean Kaineng. Yeah.
comrade or villain?: Both
profession: Artist/Murderer [...A/Mu I guess? Let's say A/Mo]
screenshots:
metaphorical:
and
physical:
body shape etc: She's like... purdy and uhm... has a joker smile.
Special Powers: Morph ball. And eye lasers.
short background-story: So once upon a time, Tzutzu went on a picnic with a polar bear. However, she fell into a hole and was stuck in a stasis cell left by some goddamned litterer. 8984 years later, she got woken up by the nuclear war going around near her hole. Seeing the massive death and destruction-ness around her, she went insane and now skips around ripping out people's intestines with her bare hands. Years went by and she was eventually caught by the galactic federation of spoon dealers (the de facto government body at the time), and was sentenced to being sent back to her own time.
why I want him/her in comic: Would make comic less boring D:

Time to RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO myself out!
character name: William Knight
age: 38
birthplace: Ascalon
comrade or villain?: Villain
profession: Ranger Mercenary
screenshots:
Body shape/facial features: Tall, lean, never makes eye contact, qQuite scarred, stubble, hides most of his face behind a mask.
Powers: Adept with a blade and with the bow, always carries his bow carved into the shape of Melandru. He can hit an apple on a tree from 300 yards with a single arrow.
Backstory: Forced out of ascalon by the searing he and his best friend Hobo moved to Cantha, taken in by Elder Rhea he formed a band of Legionaries known as the Blue Blades with himself at the head. One day his guild hall mysteriously burnt down, leaving half of his legion missing or dead, including his lifelong friend Hobo. He was forced to take a job in the Luxon armada patrolling the borders between Luxon and Kurzick lands.
One day, on a routine patrol through Saltspray Beach he happened upon a Kurzick Warband sacking a small village. To his horror, Hobo sat at its head - he had betrayed the Blue Blades, burnt the Hall and all for Kurzick gold. In a fit of rage he broke ranks, and slaughtered all of the Kurzick guards and lodged an arrow firmly in the back of the betrayer's head. Blood soaked and shaking, he stood alone in the center of the village. The luxon villagers cowered away in fear, his comrades had fled from the carnage. He was alone.
On that day the light inside William's heart died. He kills without remorse, he trusts noone, he wears the bloodsoaked armour of his fallen enemy and he and the reformed Blue Blades maraud the border between Kurzick and Luxon lands, robbing and murdering those who cross their path.
Why he should be in the comic: William is an empty vessel, you can make his as bad as they come, a vicious murderer devoid of feeling or conscience or he could be a man without a path waiting to be shown the way, killing out of fear and running from his past - just needing some interaction to make him face his problems.

character name: Your Captain
age: 50
birthplace: Ascalon City
comrade or villain?: Comrade
screenshots:
body shape and facial features: Stoic, short and well built. Born with genetic dwarfism, but compensated by years of rigorous training to hide disproportionate limbs. Face marked with wrinkles from an early age due to constant frowning. Eye was poked out when an arrow backfired.
short background-story: He became a pirate at an early age when his teenage wife fell overboard in a Canthan ship raid. During the assault, he bested the opposing forces' captain through a hammer duel. His devastating hammer gave him the advantage over the other captain's earthshaker, and from then on he became the pirate captain. Many years later, he retired the pirating profession to model for the seaman's yearly marshal calendar. Since he had thrown away his namesake long ago, he was simply denoted as Your Captain.
why I want him/her in comic: Because he is a beast.

LMFAO Blue, that's excellent. XD
It seems I already have a few characters to choose from, that's great! You can wh0re your character(s) as much as you want, it'll only count as a positive thing in my book ^.^ When I've chosen a character we have to discuss him/her and her personality and place in the story anyway, so the more background info I have the better. Just don't write several pages about him/her in this thread, that'll be a little too much... XD
2 more pages + some more info will be added to the first page in 8-14 hours time, I suspect.

I betta put up her profile then ..
you can cast Ala as comrade or antagonist; tho typically she's a bit o both
as a goodie, Alacrity is quixotic, capricious, and tends to follow her own path rather than what's expected of her. Let's pick something light and airy for her themesong ~
as a baddie, Ala is equally frivolous~! Imagine her humming ♪ ~ i think we're alone now .. ♫ :} to some poor soul she's filleting~!
Ala's meant to be badass but cute, and no comparison to the main heroes.
Even now, when playing her, Alacrity does not feel right in centre stage, but would fill any role of henchie, scout, spy and killer pet.
~ and why she wants to be in the comic~? cos of you, Tzu :}

Character name:Sedona Lightmare
Age: 28
Birthplace: Barradin Estate
Comrade or villain?: Comrade, of course!
Screenshots:
Body shape and facial features: 5'8" Athletic build. Stern face, rarely smiles other than engaging in mortal combat on the battlefield against all odds. Condescending looks towards those who do not take combat seriously.
General attitude: Very serious, she takes pride in her expertise and wisdom. Eternally courageous, she will look an enemy in the eye and meet equally on the field of battle. She has no patience for clowning around. She is a consummate teacher...will offer her wisdom to any she deems worthy, but for a price: hard work. No handouts here.
Short background-story: The eldest of three sisters, Sedona, is an idealist. First to rise to the challenge of defending her homeland and kinsmen from the evil that threatens them, she has never backed down from a call to duty, to a challenge of self-sacrifice to the greater good. When new threats arose in her sisters' chosen homelands, she was compelled to protect her own flesh and blood from these adversaries, whether they wanted/needed it or not. Trained from a child in the art of face-to-face combat, she is a master of any martial weapon she lays a hand on. She likes to face her foes up close and personal.
I'd like her to be in some sort of combat instructional position, or a high-ranking general. Her strive for glory and victory would only allow her to be a Comrade.
Why I want him/her in comic: My GWAMM character, I feel that her achievements and accomplishments in the GW world place her at the forefront of legends and heroes. She should be well-known in the GW universe, as a renowned leader and teacher.

Quick cast mending!
Chicken of the Seas
Poor Tzu =P
Character name: Vira the dark
Age: 20's
Birthplace: Somewhere in the Maguuma Jungles
Comrade or Villain?: Umm, I dunno that could be up to you. She looks like a villain but looks could be deceiving. Perhaps she could be a neutral but shady character
Screenshots:
Fullbody: or
Headshot:
Body shape and facial features: 5"7 Athletic build. The only time she seems to show any facial features is when killing or making a sarcastic comment that is only amusing to herself.
General attitude: Vira is very mysterious, sometimes she seems as if she's scheming on making a killing for the "good side", other times, and perhaps if the price is right or there is something in it for her, she will work for the "good side". In an odd sort of way she might show her favorites however by crude teasing. However its hard to tell if she really is trying to be affectionate or is just doing what she does best.
Short background-story: When asked once, she said that she was born in the Maguuma jungles. However its also been rumored that she worked with the shining blade for a time, only to be exiled due to her ruthless behavior in killing. The second rumor is that after that, she traveled to Ascalon in hopes to join there ranks. While she succeeded for a while, she deserted her troop, and was classified as MIA.
Why I want him/her in comic: Sue Aside gets all the spotlight. Vira's in the low light, and not only because she's so shady. =P

Haha, I'm seeing a lot of other people with neutral/independent characters. Don't suppose you've got any plans for a mercenary band in the plotline, do you?
Seline Nerlim
Mmm I like anti-hero characters, where you're not sure weather this character is on your side. Good work Tzu!
Tzu
I see most people are submitting their very "best" characters, the most skilled ones and the most elite.
It's not at all sure that I can fit someone like that into the story, as you know I have my own main cast to ensure attention! XD
Commander/leader-type characters have a slim chance of getting through,
unless I all of the sudden throw a full blown war with several warbands (which is highly unlikely) and the seperate parties all need leaders.
Also, my characters are all considerably flawed, some are downright dislikable.
I couldn't introduce a maxed titles paladin to my band of tattered almost-heroes, for obvious reasons.
If anyone's got an idea that their character might be skilled in battle, but still doesn't work as a mercenary or hench (personal reasons? retired? family business?), but something else...
those kind of characters are easier to find a place for in the story.
- One of my characters worked in a laundry service in the Kaineng slum,
before she later advanced to become the owner of an Okiya-type place serving the Kaineng elite.
- Another one spent almost all of her life locked up in her bedroom.
That does not mean they can't be lethal warriors a few years later.
It's easier to make room for elite villains with strong personalities, but keep in mind that I won't let villains, except my own,
actually defeat my party. Your villain might be killed, or (s)he might be spared, but (s)he will most certainly not be victorious :/

Hmm i dont mind if my character as a villain ends up being slain or spared.. she can even maybe join the 'winning party' because she fights for those who have the biggest advantage.
Although if you want (and if i can) i do have another character.. who is more normal and i can write up something quick for her.. but thats up to you.

Its totally up to you Tzu. I don't think anyone would do it but its good that you're letting people know so they don't "QQ my character died". =P Your comic is yours, its very interesting so far and I hope you don't feel pressured to commission people's characters into it!

haha don't worry girl! we know we can't all end up in the league of extraordinary gentle(wo)men I think we're all gonna be thrilled enough if we get a 5-second guest appearance, no matter what. You can do to Eryn whatever you want, she's messed up enough for that - just don't kill her cuz I still need her (although that would be hard indeed... )

- One of my characters worked in a laundry service in the Kaineng slow, before she later advanced to become the owner of an Okiya-type place serving the Kaineng elite.
- Another one spent almost all of her life locked up in her bedroom.
That does not mean they can't be lethal warriors a few years later.
It's easier to make room for elite villains with strong personalities, but keep in mind that I won't let villains, except my own,
actually defeat my party. Your villain might be killed, or (s)he might be spared, but (s)he will most certainly not be victorious :/ Incantare is in no way a leader anymore. She over calculates and is extremely weak physically. Sometimes she has freakout sessions in the middle of battle and remembers the accident, crying and screaming in emotional pain, but only if its triggered by something. As for what that something is you will have to figure it out XD.
Also out of battle, shes a drunk ........but not a slut! Drinking Ale is the ONLY thing she does with her hands, since they keep it nice and cool >_>. Dwarven aged ale is the best, none of that silly vabbian wine for her. She will normally go ranting off about her 'adventures' when she was once a leader, but now follows command, only while giving her over calculated advice.
I dont know if I made her seem leet in my description but she is definatly NOT XD Cept for her magical ability I spose.
She could also be a tactician if you like. Avoiding the battle completely.
Can I submit my Ele as a Villian also? I don't need both characters in there but I have a pretty good idea of what my ele could do if you really dont wanna use incantare.
It's not at all sure that I can fit someone like that into the story, as you know I have my own main cast to ensure attention! XD
Commander/leader-type characters have a slim chance of getting through,

those kind of characters are easier to find a place for in the story. That's kind of why I went with Farai, because of my characters she's the most likely to work with and/or under someone else. She's got leader abilities, but she doesn't like it. Not so much mercenary or henchman, just more..."Need something? Need help? Cool, maybe I can learn something new or teach something myself at the same time".
She's got her flaws, I just don't think I did very good at putting any of them in ^^; I would imagine being very friendly and trusting can definitely be a bad thing for a fighter, though. It'd make it easy for her to be used by someone. In fact, depending on who/what the bad guys are, that could make her a potential villain, though an unwitting one. She's also slightly arrogant and has got a short temper that she keeps repressed. This results in explosions when she's pushed to her limit.
And keep in mind her size. She may be a melee fighter, but she's tiny and has no offensive capabilities outside what she can do with a scythe. If she ever gets disarmed, the best she can do is try and keep herself healed until she gets her scythe back or runs away. And with how stubborn she is, she won't decide the latter is an option until it's pretty much too late and she's really screwed
And out of battle? She likes looking at pretty things, is easily distracted, and tends to spend more money than she really has to spend And has a sweets addiction. Literally. She gets grouchy after too long without any.
Also, I certainly don't mind if she gets the crap beaten out of her or if she dies or anything. I certainly have a habit of being cruel enough to my characters (if you saw any of my RPs I participate in, you'd probably think I hate my characters).

Haha, I totally detect a sudden flood of everyone coming in to protest their characters' flawedness.
This is why I didn't go with my other idea, which was my Dervish/Mesmer couple - Ebia is too much of a leader (also, I didn't want to get greedy and ask for TWO characters in the comic, since they come as a package deal). Jiyu I figure is more into doing whatever it takes to keep herself and her tiger fed and to stay "out" - whether that be fighting with some mercenaries, running odd jobs for merchants, or living off the land for a year. Note that she and that tiger are inseperable, mostly because she's more or less harmless and often helpless without him (terrible with a bow, never really mastered the spirits, and she's so emotionally connected to him that the loss would be devastating).
Also, she has no future - right now I've got her written up for dying of unknown causes alone in the wilderness in a few years, whoop-de-doo.

Unlucky Slayer
Character Name: Katherine Salmatori
Age: 27
Birthplace: Kaineng Center
Comrade or Villain?: Neutral Comrade (Teacher Profession. =3 )
Screenshots: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/7884/gw006c.jpg
Body shape and facial features besides screenshots (since GW doesnt allow much variety): 5'4" Tall. Slender body. Not much else I can think of that isnt shown by the picture. (without being naughty lewd about it. =P)
short background-story: Born and raised in Kaineng Center, Katherine had it fairly rough growing up getting into trouble often. Though upon reaching high school age she started to gather her focus after seeing the dedication her teachers showed trying to get her and the rest of the students back on track in their lives. At this point she decided that she wanted to be a teacher. Katherine had always been smart for her age, perhaps a little too smart, but when she focused on her studies she excelled and was soon the top of her class. "Shaping the minds of our youth, this is what I want to be known for."
Why I want him/her in comic: Good stories could always use a nice teacher character be it in the past or present. (maybe the good guys and bad guys went to the same school in the past with her as a teacher who knows.) =3
Soundtrack/theme: Van Halen: Hot for Teacher (lol) or more seriously Tsuki to Hoshi to A-ta-shi from the Gurren Lagann Sountrack ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9GcSvBev-c )
