can rangers do vsf?

back with another one.so..i have a lvl 20 ranger in good shaped and i was wondering cuz i don't have a ritualist can i do the fs and eoe part with a ranger? (if i misplaced the thread plz remove it)

In short words: yes you can. I've seen many rangers used for VSF as EoE.

just bring FS, EoE, Gaze of Fury, Flesh of My Flesh + 4 other skills you want
keep spirits up near the rock and use Gaze of Fury whenever res is needed then put it up again

Rangers fill the FS spot on a VSF. As said, build can be found on wiki.

But be warned,you only need one per group,there's usually quite a bit of competition to get in as the FS because it's probably the easiest job.

Yes you can (as has been said). If you are going to try to join PUGs, you will want to have Ritualist as your secondary. If you can't get Ritualist as a secondary (because you don't have Factions), you will have a harder time joining PUG groups. The main reason for this is that the group will expect you to be able to take down Frozen Soil when needed, so they can rez people. PUGs get really cranky if they have to wait for FS to go down naturally (they are all such busy people ).
If you can't get Rit as a secondary, next best thing is to set up FS to last a relatively short time (but more than 30 seconds). That way, you have to keep putting it up more often, but it won't take so long to wait for it to die naturally, if needed.

Also, in regard to a few posts above, I recommend you bring Rupture Soul to take down friendly spirits and Consume Soul (elite) to kill enemy spirits instead of Gaze of Fury. Gaze of Fury sounds good until the spirit it creates accidently agros the wrong mobs. Also, Consume Soul can be used to kill enemy minions (on either side of the wall).
(Of course, PUGs being PUGs, you may get hassled by some doofus who insists you "must" have Gaze.)

Edit: another hint. Since you will have a few "optional" skill slots to fill, consider bringing along Pain Inverter to help kill the Warders. (It is very important to kill the Warders asap). PI also works a bit on Justiciar Thommis as well.
