Getting back in to the game: Playing necro, need a hero build.
bugallnot
Havent finished EOTN yet, actually havent started so this is what is my first priority as far as builds go. I need something that "works by itself" and can provide a backbone strong enough to take on more or less any non hardmode zone (shouldnt be too hard )
While I used to be a lexicon as far as skills and builds goes thats not the case anymore as I can hardly remember which skills does what. Got some balthazar faction so EOTN skills can be unlocked quickly if need be
Doesnt have to be über fast or anything, just needs to be real strong.

Been looking at that one and sabway, primarily going to play normal mode for now so wouldnt sabway be better?
(And how long in to EOTN do i need to get in order to unlock third necromancer hero?)
What kind of build should I be playing along with the discordway build? Seeing how im a necro myself I figure perhaps even some kind of Searing Flames build would be cool.

you hsould be playing a build that spreads conditions and hexes, to aid in filling the conditions of discord. if your running 3 discord heroes, just run SS nuker yourself. usually does great.
saloking
why dont you just run MM unless you dont like to run MM ofcourse :/
you get the third necromancer hero when you go in the path of the asura, i believe?

I can recommend http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:N/A_Mark_of_Pain_Nuker with http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_Discordway .
Necro will prime Discord with hexes and condis and greatly assist the spike. Heroes will heal, prot, raise minions and spike.
Since you are well specced into curses you can manage Enfeebling Blood and maybe Shadow of Fear (dont really need that) yourself, freeing 2 skill slots on the second necro.
Another option is to go with above mentioned SS necro http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:N/Me_SS_Nuker with barbs and weaken armor in optional slots to maximise the damage dealt by your party and primerely minions, AoTL MM, Necro restorer and a spirit spammer/physical hero (paragon, ranger). Equip all of your heroes and yourself with spears to additionally trigger barbs. Minion master with high level minions (especially bone fiends because they tend to lock on one target better) will have a great synergy with hexes that trigger on physical hits (barbs).
This is what I find to be the best way too roll through pve as a necro. ^^

An AP caller is ideal for discord.

I do like the spears and barbs idea.

Ok. Then what Cupcake said.

After doing some research i've figured out that I wont be getting a fourth necro till like 3\4'ths in to the EOTN campaign. I'll be doing either discordway or sabway with me as a third necro btw.
So, uintill then. What kind of hero would be reccomended?

I would recommend a spirit spammer ritualist or a ranged physical (ranger or para).
Spirit spammer will create an additional wall of spirits to soak up the damage while also adding considerable ammount of damage. A physical hero will additionally trigger barbs or mop if you have them equipped but a spirit spammer would probably be better.

While the spirit spammer is indeed strong this is normal mode. So wouldnt it allso be kindof overkill? Then again I could probably pull 2 groups at a time with a setup such as that

bugallnot: Livia isn't too deep into EotN - a bit annoying, but I was able to do the LONG run for the EotN outpost west into the Asura area, and get the Gadd quest line, and then find Gadd and unlock Livia.
Which brings me to my question about this topic:
I'm running a Dervish primary. I now have all 3 Necro heroes, and the skills to support a SABway:
1)
** SS Necro
** =========
Necromancer / Ritualist
Attributes
-----------
Curses 12 + 1 + 1
Channeling Magic 10
Soul Reaping 8 + 1
Restoration Magic 2
Skills
-------
Spiteful Spirit
Barbs
Mark of Pain
Enfeebling Blood
Splinter Weapon
Rip Enchantment
Signet of Lost Souls
Death Pact Signet
2)
** Necro Healer
** ============
Necromancer / Ritualist
Attributes
----------
Soul Reaping 12 + 1 + 1
Restoration Magic 12
Skills
--------
Weapon of Remedy
Weapon of Warding
Mend Body and Soul
Spirit Light
Protective Was Kaolai
Life
Foul Feast
Flesh of My Flesh
3)
** Jagged MM Necro
** ================
Necromancer / Monk
Attributes
-----------
Soul Reaping 9 + 1
Death Magic 12 + 1 + 1
Protection Prayers 9
Skills
-------
Jagged Bones
Animate Shambling Horror
Animate Bone Fiend
Death Nova
Putrid Bile
Protective Spirit
Aegis
Signet of Lost Souls
This may be the ultimate n00b question, but:
Do I need to bring henchmen in addition to these heroes to fill up an 8-person party, or should this be able to be us 4 only?

Asking for builds is I think, against the rules here. Anyway, since MoP has come up:
The core of the AP-MoP caller is PvE skill free (unless you include the Ebon Sin):
Mark of Pain, Barbs, Rigor Mortis and Assassin's Promise.
Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support is however, an easy PvE skill to get. Simply get to the Eye of the North, take the "Charr Invaders" quest from Mullenix, complete it then do the "Service: Practice, Dummy" quest and you get the skill as a reward.
Filler skills can include Enfeebling Blood, Reckless Haste, Shadow of Fear (not with RH though) or whatever might work until you get the useful PvE skills (You move like a dwarf, By Ural's Hammer, Mindbender etc.).
As for heroes, I tend to bring a Minion Master with Empathic Removal and Prot Spirit, an ER prot Ele and a Paragon. Give a spear to the MM so he'll attack the marked target.
Or you can be unimaginative and use Discord teams.
But to be honest, it doesn't matter much what you run. You'll be going through Normal Mode on your first run, so feel free to experiment. SS builds work and require no PvE skills, they're just not very quick. Very easy to play though. SS doesn't require any specific hero setups to work either as unless you bring Barbs and Mark of Pain, it has no synergy at all.
Spirit spamming has come up, it's strong and easy, but can be a bit slow at times. Apparantly the attack times on the spirits from Signet of Spirits has been fixed (improving the skill), but I haven't tried it lately.

Well, at the risk of ridicule, I shall ask my n00b question once more:

3. Asking for Builds
Please refrain from posting simply asking for other users to post builds for you. We cannot keep posting builds until we find one to your liking. Please post your own build so that we have an idea of what you're trying to achieve and help you improve it. Moreover, many specimen builds can be found in the stickied profession guides at the top of each profession sub-forum, if you really need that much help in starting a build. Many builds can also be found via searching.
And Nitestride the answer is take 4 henchmen also.
