Worth Getting Back Into Again?
Testoviron
I used to play Guild Wars & had been playing it since release. After a couple of years of playing the game & all expansions, I decided to quit & play World of Warcraft instead.
I lost my Guild Wars CD cases along with my Username/Password etc. I've been trying for a few weeks now to remember my details but I can't remember it at all. I even forgot the email I used to register the game, which is a pain.
Anyway, I was thinking of rebuying the game and starting afresh, but was just wondering if it was worth it, considering GW2 is coming out etc.
What do you guys think?
Thanks

Yeah it's worth it to play the game, but are you SURE you can't find the info for your old account... I dunno if its actually worth a fresh restart and buying all the games if you know you have an old account out there going on 5 years...

It's a great time killer.
so if money is of no concern....go for it.

i would definitely try to remember the email because then you could reset the password and have the new one sent to it.
once you get access to your old account again you get access to quite a few mini pets from each of your characters left on the account throughout the years.
plus you save yourself some money because you don't have to buy it again

tip for everyone dont have so many email adress you cant remember them.
but yeah its worth playing, i suggest you try and figure out the details of your account(or find they access keys) but if you really cant then just buy the game. Its really fun sometimes starting with just nothing.

I'm getting back into it after two years, things have changed a lot but once you start to learn the new things, the old ones come back like riding a bike. If you loved the game before it is still there for you, you just need to dig through the elitism, and players claiming there is only one way to do things, and you will find the game of old there.

The Plaync Customer Support can help even with account password/name loss.
Take it up with them.

I had lost my account to a hacker and I bought the games again to catch up with everyone else before Guild Wars 2 comes out. I suggest you do the same so that you have the small achievements everyone else has from the Hall of Monuments.

I say yeah, GW2 is still far away. I also got a bit bored and tried out WoW, got two characters to lvl60, but honestly didn't like the biggest part - combat. Most of the time you spend fighting, that goes for pretty much every MMO but in WoW the combat is soooo boring. That's why I came back to GW. I don't play a lot anymore, around an hour a day. I'm working on legendary vanquisher, I only have Elona left. I just VQ one area a night and I enjoy just fighting mobs, trying new builds, nothing crazy but it's still more fun than WoW.

Personally, I wouldn't start from scratch in GW. It's a declining game, and definitely not worth starting over in. I'd play some other games until GW2 comes out.

Contact Support, either by phone or through the website. If you can supply enough details, (Name, Address, Date of Birth, character names/professions, etc. from original activation) then they will most likely restore the account.

Another one of these threads...there is about 2-3 aday, try checking those out. also check out the game updates there is alot thats changed. other then that, id say this game isnt worth getting back into. it doesnt have money tournments anymore, high end pvp is biased based on your pvp titles(which you cant get becuz you cant get a decent group lol), and high end pve is over populated by ignorant assassins or monks.

Game is still pretty interesting, I'd try everything to get back your original account though. Since you spent some cash on the expansions, wouldn't want that to go to waste.
Marty Silverblade
GW is pretty cheap these days so even if you aren't able to recover your account and don't find you like it, it's not like you're wasting much cash.
I'd say it's worth it though. After 3-4 years people are getting bored but taking breaks every now and then and I'm still happy.
