We have an alliance chat, a guild chat... now maybe an officer chat would help soo much.. for like talking about kickings, alliance and anything that might panic members, ect.
Other MMOs have it... so why can't gw have it?
Officer Chat

In most guilds either you have at most 5 officers or everyone is an officer. What's the point?
You know what I really would like though, are player created global channels. Could have a "gw guru" channel, or a "gw guru sux" channel, or functional global channels "PuG GvG" "PuG UWSC" etc. If we're going to add a chat system, lets at least make it one worthwild.

Neh. We don't need it. The officers can just gather around in a private meeting, like forming a team in the game and use team chat. The problem is some guilds aren't that organized. Never the less, since there are options like this around to serve as the alternative, I stand corrected that this idea is not needed.

As noted, there are already ways to handle this. Meeting in one location and forming a team to use Team Chat works easily. If you have more than 8 people to speak with, that is a different problem, but you can easily find deserted outposts like some of the Asian districts of small cities. Or go to Urgoz/Deep where you can have 12. And of course Vent and Team Speak are available to most guilds.
Since it would just add to clutter, and one more spot to 'mistell', I don't want it.

to all those who say "oh go to GH" or "go on vent" or "make a team"... a lot of people usually talk things through privately without having to whisper every single officer about it EVEN if we're already on vent or in a team we may want to analyze players in our team privately but without having to constantly break up the team or change vent channels...
Plus to those who say "oh it will add more spam".... make it a guild rule or something if you don't want spam... plus this idea is for officers in your guild NOT the whole alliance.
Personally, i just think that people are against it cause they don't like change and they haven't experienced a time where they really need an officer discussion but right on the time rather than putting a halt to everything.

Well, i saw more than one guild's forum with sections accessible only by officers, so i don't think it's strange, nor that it promotes segregations..everyone in the guild knows that officers must speak about guild's organization amongst them. If you want, one can think that also the existence of officers promotes guild segregations.
It's also true that small guilds with only officers don't need this feature at all, but bigger guilds with 6+ officers probably will find it useful.
For example, let's suppose that a guild member has got a bad behaviour, he's insulting or flaming someone else, etc. Probably officers would like to talk immediately about this to decide what to do, and not to be forced to stop what they're doing (mission, vanquishing, etc.) to meet in the GH or in an empty outpost so they can freely speak.
So, IMHO this could be useful..

I see limited advantage.
When an officer thinks about kicking a member they can consult another officer with PM. If the case ain't clear they can consult me.
They are officers for a reason, they can and should act and think by themself.
If they cannot figure out something I can make the final call but I'd rather have that they kick an offending member and I reinvite him/her later than that they keep him/her in the guild.
No need to discuss this with all officers.
Discussing kicking an officer? No use here, he can see the chat.
I do this in private with some very trusted officers if needed.
Alliance? I always discussed this in GC. Told people the reason why I was reconsidering the current alliance. And offered them to help them find spots in alliance guilds if they wanted to stay in the alliance.
In my entire 'career' as officer and guild leader there have been only one or two occurences where an officers meeting was scheduled to discuss things.
Those were very specific cases, splitting the guild and another time when we had some serious problems with an alliance.
The rest? PM and GC worked fine. No need to implement OC for the few times it's actually needed.
