You'll have more information about the Live Team's current and future plans fairly soon. There's going to be a few changes in how those plans get communicated, using what tools, and at what stage. One of the issues we've been grappling with is with many players' lack of knowledge or understanding of the development process, and just how many changes a feature can undergo before it goes live. Game development is usually a black box between the time a project is announced to when you start seeing the first glimpses of it, which is why there have been so many misplaced comments about Guild Was 2 being "vaporware" (when MMORPGs take between 3 - 7 years to create from scratch). There isn't much visibility into actual game development in the industry, and I mean the nitty gritty process, the iterations, the discussions, the constant change, and flux that goes on before a product is launched, at least there isn't unless you read industry post-mortems or attend industry conferences. One concern on our side is, if we let you see that world, that this won't come with the understanding that game development is a continuous, iterative process. That game developers are human. That game developers experiment and innovate, but experimentation and pushing boundaries can be messy. It can mean going back to the drawing board multiple times to get it right, and it can mean canceling features because there are flaws. The XTH is kind of a tricky one. We believe we've found the source of the issue, and we've taken steps to address it, but it requires extensive testing. The results of those tests will determine the fate of XTH. But Linsey will address this in much more detail soon. |

So much for that :(.

Well, as I said elsewhere, if the content update doesn't arrive tomorrow, we wont be seeing it this month.
Although with the previous one they announced its arrival 4 months in advance. And at that time, they said content updates would no longer be part of monthly maintenance builds, instead arriving every 3-4 months. Last update, about 4 months ago. I dont think they should be surprised we are expecting something, they themselves set about the new update schedule.
Even a rough estimate and brief description as to what the update entails. And if a delay happens, fair enough, just tell us.
I do find it strange they promised more communication but the reverse seems true.
The trailer was good but it doesn't buy them any leeway in this instance, the old excuse of 'too busy working on gw2' doesn't work in reverse for the Live Team, which is soley dedicated to gw1. And it has been 4 months since the large content update, and that is alot of man hours even with a very small team.
We can only wait and see, and hopefully for our sakes they don't continue this policy of non communication. It only frustrates the fan base.

Reading Reginas post almost makes me feel like shes calling us stupid and unable to figure out that things take time. Sure we may not be developers, but giving us little snipits and sneak previews of things to come isn't bad. Most of us here are fairly intelligent, and hey if you decided one month you wanted one feature, but then explained how it was impossible the next that is honestly fine by me. Maybe even some of the smarter people here could give some advice on how to get around it. But not even given a chance and just kept totally in the dark for fear that we may criticize you is pretty lame.
I guess ignoring us is the easier way.

Lol...what'd you expect when the "misplaced comments" started at the top?

I could go on and on; however, does the saying, "People are only as good as their word" come to mind? I'm really not expecting an answer to that with all the clearance you people need to communicate with us...
