Factions: Can't Keep Them Alive.....

either one or the other, Brother Mhenlo or Master Togo will die in Vizunah Square no matter How careful I am about protecting BM or quickly I get to MT.
What gives? Is there a trick or do I just stink at GW Fu?
(well I already know the latter is true)

This mish, there are two teams, yours and another which may be human or might be composed of heroes.
Sometimes the mish just fails without anything you can do, because the other team didn't protect their npc.
What you need to do is stay with the npc you start with, and keep pretty close.
Don't worry about the other npc, that's the other team's concern.
Your info says you are a Necro, so shouldn't be too hard keeping next to the npc.
On the other hand, your Avatar is an assassin, so you either need to flag your team next to *your* npc,
or take a ranged build (A/P A/R or assacaster) and stay close.
remember it might not be your fault that you are failing, it might be cos of your allies~!

Vizunah Square is not difficult if you're used to it, but it's definitely a pain if you're not. And sometimes you'll get stuck with someone from the other side that just doesn't seem to know what they're doing. I find it to be almost as much luck as skill.
Try and stick close to your NPC and keep them from getting overwhelmed. Togo and Mhenlo have habits of being stupidly suicidal at times, and don't always take care to stay safe, so try and make sure they don't get surrounded.

Visunah Square is definately MUCH MUCH harder than it used to be since the RoJ buff. The NPC's often just stand there and eat 250 damage (or however much it is), wasting the Monks energy. NM isn't too bad; just need to pump the DPS up so you don't get overwhelmed. HM is hell, probably one of the hardest missions now.

Lots of AoE damage and necromancer minions are pretty useful in this mission, whether you are doing it NM or HM. Minions are keeping foes busy, while you decimate them with AoE. If you are doing it with your necro, use an echo-SS build with the assistance of one or maybe two MM heroes. If you can bring Pain Iverter, that would be useful, too. If you cast it on the afflicted monk right after he casts RoJ, he will basicly blow up instantly. Also, try to stay close to your NPC, ready to move over, when RoJ is cast on you.
Oh, and one more thing, do not waste your energies to protect Brother Mhenlo or Master Togo, kill the enemies before they could harm your NPCs. If you are going too defensive in this mission, you are lost.

Last time I did this mission was a month or so back and I was lucky.
Not only did I bring a necro hero MM but so did the other team and we blitzed it.
But your not always that lucky.
Pretty much all the fights here are the same you have a few annoying assassins that are pretty easy to deal with then there are the affected these can be really dangerous as you take damage when they die so killing a load in one place at one time can do serious damage.
Take out the ritualists as quickly as you can concentrate the party on one mob at a time then move to the next area.
I know they come from several points but if you focus on single groups you will do ok.
You are also lucky in that there are quite a few bosses and the bonus from them helps quite a bit.
I find a party mix of a couple of fighters a couple of elementalists "one fire one earth is my pref" and a mm necro a monk and a ritualist works best for me.

RoJ is abitch, but if you have nightfall/EoTN and pop into there before this mission, then go get a necro, or two, and have a minion master. And if your lucky the team will have a necro MM too, and those 20 minions totally soak up aggro, and return alot of damage (bomber build) I totally blitzed the mission, getting bonus in both NM and HM

Discordway with some extra hench support made this mission easy as pie for me (NM & HM)
Take a monk/rit/mesmer/air ele with your necros and watch stuff explode

what you are describing sounds like the mission fails before the first cutscene ..

Meh, I'm not through yet. I'll keep pluggin' away till I get it.
Thank you all for the input.

If you are starting from Local quarter, Togo likes to stand on the far end of the first area while you are likely closer to the stairs. I usually have to flag a few heroes over by him otherwise he tries to solo the other side of the square :P

I recently did Vizunah with my necro with a modified sabway hero setup:
An MM N/Mo with Aura of the Leech and prot skills,
a N/Rt healer with Icy Veins,
an SoS rit spiritspammer with disechantement and shadowsong.
I also brough along the warrior, the rit, the healer and I think the earth henchie, me being an echo SS necro with mark of pain and Pain Inverter just in case. It was a smooth run, without one single death.
I hope that helps a bit.
