I'm a returning player after around 3 years of hiatus. Inscriptions are new to me and I don't quite understand it.
Attached image is my weapon.
What happens if i put the inscription "Guided by Fate" (dmg +15% while Enchanted) on it?
Does it replace the dmg +15% while enchanted that was already there?
Or do they stack?

nice weapon, but only weapons droped in NF can have inscriptions, that weapon probabably wont work. If it did, it would overright the exsisting damage modifier.
Neo Nugget
It would over write the current inscription. The same rule applies to runes and other weapon modifiers as well. If you want to keep both the weapon and the old inscription, your best bet is to go with a perfect salvage kit, which can be bought from players or from NPC's in Eye of the North, so that you have a 100% not to break anything while salvaging.
Edit: Nevermind, your weapon is from prophecies and is not able to use the inscriptions found in Nightfall or Eye of the North.
Just looked at your picture :P

So if i understand correctly, any weapon found in prophecies and factions cannot have inscriptions?
Alright, thank you.

Going back to your sword, the inscriptions system wasn't retroactive(unlike the insignia system for armors). The only things you can change on it are the hilt and pommel, just like it was back then.

Offhands from Prophecies and Factions are also limited to the stats they have when they drop. You can't add a shield handle or focus core to them, even though those are suffix mods.

If a weapon can have an inscription applied to it, it will always say:
Inscription: <inscription name>
Even if it doesn't have an inscription on it at the moment (because you removed it or whatever), it will say 'Inscription: none'.
