Question about Traveler and gifts

I just tried to exchange this week's item with the Traveler. Instead of exchanging for gifts, he gave the response of "Thank you, I hope our paths cross again soon."
I have not exchanged for gifts this week, although I did purchase gifts from other players and opened them earlier this week.
I have purchased gifts in the past from other players, but I think that was always after I had done my exchange with the Traveler.
Did purchasing other gifts cause Nicholas to not give me gifts?

That was the first thing I checked. Then I returned to Tarnished Haven and head back out to Nicholas, but still no luck.

As far as I'm aware unless you've either not got the crests, which you say you had, and you haven't already traded him this week then you should be able to get your gifts.

I don't believe that buying gifts will stop Nick talking to you.

Were the crests in your inventory before you talked to him?
Were the crests in your inventory after you talked to him?
Did you get the gifts after talking to him? (check the chat log and inventory both)

Never tried having a full inventory when getting the gifts, but possibly your inventory was full and there was no spot to put the gifts.... but I doubt it took the crests and gave you nothing.

I had planty of space in the inventory. Nick didn't take the crests, he only acts as if I already traded previously. He won't trade at all.
I am wondering if buying/opening gifts earlier in the week prevents Nick from trading.

I've never bought gifts, so I have no way to test that theory til next week, but I won't be buying gifts just to test it. My guess now becomes that you forgot you had already gotten the gifts, possibly on another character. I doubt having bought or opened gifts will effect him giving you some.... but as I said, I've never tried it.

Thanks for you suggestions. Unless I had some kind of multiple personality disorder, there isn't much of a chance that I forgot. I've been exchanging with the traveler ever since he came to the game, so I am very comfortable with the process.

I assume you do have the correct type of crests, right? I've had a few people in my guild have the same experience only to realize they have the wrong kind.

I'm not trying to be mean like when I ask my dad if he checked to make sure the VCR is plugged in before he tried to watch the movie, I just know a few good players who had the same thing happen this week.

Interestingly enough, I had Q scalps and caromi scalps in my char's inventory. Subsequently, I've tried this with another character, and no luck.

The reason for this posting is more to find out if this is an issue that I need to discuss with NCSoft, or if this is a known issue.

All in all, I guess it really doesn't matter at this point, since scalp trading is done and it's time to collect the next item. I'll see what happens this week. If it continues, I will send a message to support.
