Basically he said GW2 is going to be like WOW, because of popular request (?!?!)
Oh.. and there will be guns.

Guns, racial abilities which they're "trying" to balance (sure, I bet a Norn will be a better ele than an Asura, r00fles), raised level cap for kiddies who want huge numbers, open world.
Yup, ALL THOSE THING FOR WHICH I BOUGHT GW1 ARE STILL THERE

I stopped watching after hearing level 40.
Sounds like theyre turning GW2 into a dumbed down version of WoW.
I hope they make it better then it sounds atm or i wont be buying it.

I like how he owns up about 2.5d engine lol.
As for the level requirement, I'm not too bothered about it as long as it doesn't become a grind for each character.

Levels are a bad thing when they are the prime factor determining the outcome of a battle. Such games will quickly be either very repetitive and/or button mashy.
Levels are ok, if they only measure your progress and the actual combat is determined by you actually playing the game. 85+% of the GW content is for players at level 20. If GW1 completely removed levels from the game tomorrow, the game would not suffer one bit. Heck, most people would not even notice. On the bright side, it would force the players to direct their attention to what really is important in GW. Finding new skills, combining them and adjusting your character to each map. So let them count their levels by counting the number of skillpoints they earned.

Kitties armed with guns. I'm sorry but I have to love this.

Couple of comments-
I'm really glad that they are making an effort to not have race be a boundary. One of the things I was most concerned with was that if I wanted to be a warrior, I'd have to be Norn, or as an elementalist I'd have to be an Asura. I'm glad they are working to make that a non-issue.
Second, I'm glad they are taking the level boundaries out of the games. That was annoying in NF to be barricaded on Istan until you got to level 18 (I think that's what it is for the Consulate docks mission?), Or many of the things on Istan in general that kept you from advancing because of a number. I'm glad that's not going away.
Third, I won an honorable mention in last years Wintersday Art Contest, and I just realized that I have that peice of concept art they flip the book to. I've been sitting on GW2 concept art all this time, sorry guys! :P

Sounds interesting. Before QQing, I'll wait to see actual more gameplay.
I doubt it'll be exactly like WoW.
edit:
LOLWUT?
Charr supposed to use guns, but it isn't the Asura main weapon?
Twist!
Level 40 level cap also sounds good as long as we can make pvp chars.

I don't believe Eric specifically said "There is a Level 40 cap." What I heard, and I may be mistaken in this, was "If you're level 20 and you want to go to the level 40 area, you can go, but don't really expect to survive against all the mobs there." and "I'm not allowed to exactly state what we're raising it to, but we are raising it."
I'm also interested in this "reward" for loyal fans; I hope he didn't just speak to the question when he said "possible early beta, or what, but we're totally planning something."
