Hi folks
I'm just wondering if anyone has had this problem at all. I've recently managed to acquire a Collectors Edition copy of the original GW, but when I try and apply the keycode to my exisiting account it says that I already have the content available. Problem is, I only own the CE for Factions and Nightfall, I missed out on the original game CE so just have the normal version.
So, has anyone managed to retrospectively apply a CE code to their original GW account?
Cheers
Rich

When you add a CE to an account that already has that campaign it warns you you already have access but then says "all you'll get out of this is X bonus features" or words to that effect. I've done this myself with NF + Prophs.
It sounds as though you've obtained a non-collectors edition though I couldn't say for certain. In this case I'd get in touch with NCSoft support. You'll probably need to scan the keycard, photos of the box etc (possibly. I don't know for sure), provide a receipt of your purchase, and maybe some other things they'll ask you. They'll be able to tell you if the code you have is collectors or not. Give it a few days for them to get back to you.

Where did you get this Collector's Edition,Because they are really hard to find, so if its ebay or something like that, someone might have played a bad joke on you.

This may seem like a dumb question, but can you in fact verify that the code you are using is truly a CE prophecies code?, in other words are you sure that your CE Prophecies box has never been opened before, it could be that the code you have is for the prophecies regular edition, I dont know how you can verify the code though...
Also the CE box came with some other codes (trial keys and Beta weekend?? Or some Early event pass I cant remember, but the code you want is on the jewel case, from what I remember but that was 4 years ago)

Is there anything in the Prophecies CE that's not in the other CE's? If there is, you may have actually bought just a regular GW key.

I bought it from a seller on Amazon.co.uk, and it was described as "new and sealed" on the advert and the same on the invoice that was enclosed. However, it was quite obviously not new and sealed as the box was damaged and the seal had been broken, so straight away my spidey sense was tingling!! Howerver, the key code had not been exposed so I thought it might be okay. Anyway, it seems I have an answer:
Hi
Thank you for your recent order.
However unfortunately we have been made aware that the items dispatched are missing the Collectors Edition code that would allow you to take advantage of the special ability “Devine Aura” and the access codes included with the Collectors Editions dispatched are from the Guild Wars Game of the Year Edition that will not allow this special feature to be accessed.
We do understand that the special ability would be a key reason for buying the item, so we will issue you with a refund in full for your order via the original transaction.
Please keep the items that have been received as we would not like you to have to go through any hassle/expense of returning these to us as it was our mistake.
I hope this helps and apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.
Regards
So, basically, I get a free art book and set of headphones and a second account if I wish to use it
Thanks for all the comments though guys, much appreciated.

The key code might have been good but if the box was opened it could have easily been switched out with a normal code, dosen't the code say indie the sealed paper that its CE or Regular/GoTY?

Well i guess anything free is nice.
Sucks that you cant get CE instead.
I guess when they refund money there is nothing lost except maybe a little hope on your part.
