Thanks guys, I did the survey!

As of five minutes ago, I got the email... only took two and a half days...

now that it is confirmed 'real', I wonder how many people that didn't originally get the e-mail, used the link take the survey. lol.
Argon
I think each link is unique, I started mine last night and finished it tonight, and it had kept all my answers from before.

I want an art book! Can I take somebody else's quiz for them? I didn't get an email, unlike everybody here apparently. I hope it was not caught in junk or accidentally deleted.

No such e-mail in my inbox.
Is that offer only available in the US?

I've gotten the e-mail and taken the survey. On a different computer that is not connected to the one I use to play GW just in case of a keylogger.
However, I distinctly remember that when I signed up for the Guild Wars Newsletter I was asked if I was willing to participate in surveys and this is the second one that I've been sent. The first was last summer as the cover letter references.
Has everyone that received the letter signed up for the Newsletter and agreed with them to participate in future surveys?

What I want to know is did anyone get an email 24-48 hours after taking the survey about doing the followup interview to get the book.
If so, I'm totally jealous!

Considering that the email was sent to most people yesterday around 6PM Central US time, I doubt anyone has gotten an invitation to the second interview and the gift of the Art Book as of yet. My guess is that when Kevin Wong (email author) gets to work this morning, he'll begin to review and select the lucky ones who will get to do the second interview. The company is in the Pacific time zone so that probably hasn't yet happened.
<waits for new email hopefully>
I srsly doubt that there's a keylogger in this as Martin Kerstein of ANet has confirmed that this survey is legit. But...never hurts to be overly careful.

True -- I hadn't read through all of the pages before posting my response, and hadn't seen the response from Martin. My bad.

What's with this selective mailing bullcrap?!
I have been registered for years to all their newsletters, but haven't received anything!
No test Krewe application.
Linked NCSoft account.
WTF!!!

Seems to be closed now. I went back to the email to look again (forgot about it for a while) and no longer works. XD

The interviews were supposed to start today, did anybody get invited to do one yet?

No second email for me as of yet. If I don't get selected I'll be disappointed. However, if this was just a ploy to get people to respond to the first survey, and they have no intention of doing a second round, then I'll be ANGRY! We'll see.

I wonder how long it would take for a selected person to get a second email, since the interviews are going on til the 18th.
I'm so hoping for that second email....

it does seem strange that only 1 person here (and one other from the gw2 site) has gotten an interview, then again I remember when I signed up for a marketing company research thing---every so often they call me and say that I have been selected, please call us back, answer some questions and then find out they are not looking for 40+aged women....hubby also signed up with them and has never gotten picked and he is the lucky one in the family (I have gotten to do a few surveys.....they pay so why not?)
so you have to think that they sent out 40k surveys (from the twitter kevin thing)....of those a bunch were not responded to for various reasons (email addy no longer good, people didnt think it was legit, people not checking emails, people got email that are no longer playing, etc). of those they are looking for specific people (yet again probably not the 40+aged female audience--so no interview chance for me).....so a certain age group or whatever (and I hate to say it that they probably didnt send these out to non-english speakers since the interviewers are probably not bi-linguals )...so of those....only a few people would be picked (figure out that there are probably only a handful of interviewers and then add that it takes an hour to do the interview, add that to the number of hours....you get how many interviews they will do....and that is a tiny number ) not to mention that the 'gift' was a very limited supply at PAX....
oh well, not really an art book collector anyways.

I don't find it that strange. It is likely they mainly want the mass survey data and just a handful of more in depth interviews. I wouldn't be surprised if they only do calls to a dozen people.

I never touch any email that has all capitals in the topic title:

I got the email, glanced at it and deleted it. Since it was not from Anet I did not regard it as legit and did not care enough to look into it.
Martin Firestorm
For everyone else, is it possible to buy the artbook?
Percipience
The interview part seemed kind of weird to me because at no point in the survey do they ever ask for your phone number. And as far as receiving the art book, they never ask for your mailing address either. I'd be curious to hear from anyone who actually conducted the interview how this was done and if anyone actually ever ends up getting the art book.
cosyfiep
Those that were picked for the follow up interview were done so by a 2nd email at which time I will assume they asked for the phone number to call them at (I will also assume they asked for the mailing addy during the interview). For those of us who didnt get the interview there was no reason to ask for phone number or address. (since it seems they only interviewed a tiny amount of people they got the survey back from )...no need to ask for information like that.....many people would have been even more suspicious of an email or survey asking for that information.
from the email:
so I KNOW they never asked for phone number or address in the first survey, therefore it would only follow they asked during the 2nd email for a phone number to contact you at, as for the address......
from the email:
Quote:
Respondents who agree to a follow up interview after the survey will receive the book. If you are selected, we will inform you via e-mail within 24-48 hours of completing the survey with an invitation including time and dates. |
Percipience
I'd like to hear from somebody who actually did the interview, because I personally think that's a very awkward way to do things.
