150-350 fps usually around the 200s. Will i be able to pvp efficiently?
truetearsyay
I get lags when its around 400 ping though. This was on the trial. I got 400+ ping and lags about 4 times during my 3 hours of playing. Would my ping increase if i did pvp? Will it handle big events? Sorry i said fps, it would suppose to be ping xD.

150-350fps?
Or are you really referring to 150-350ms ping?
150-350fps would be godly and way overkill on what you need to play the game, so I'll just assume ping:
150-200ms is ok, considering many other people will probably have same disadvantages.
But with pings over 150ms, it's better to play classes who doesn't need fast reflexes.

Just don't play mesmer or ranger or else your teams will rage at you.
crazybanshee
Don't play monk either. Best best is a melee class.

If this was true, your computer would be going faster than the server
Then again, if the ping was 200s, you would have a three minute and twenty second delay on everything, BUT your game would run with flawless graphics.

Basically this. As long as you don't play those professions as interrupters (or an infuse monk), you'll be fine. Note, you can still play those professions in low end PvP using different skill setups. Just not certain finesse builds.

lol at fps. u should be ok in pvp with that ping. if u were averaging in the thousands, prolly not.

I also run with virt sych off, so mine aren't capped at 55-60.
HOWEVER - In response, a 200ms ping isn't bad. As stated, don't run reflex-heavy bars. Running a ranger is fine, but don't expect to interrupt 3/4s casts. You should be able to still get 1 second pretty easy, and if you can't get 2s casts, well, a sloth would have better reflexes then you, sorry to say

really? i get very high FPS like 200 and like ~100ms ping, but then from time to time i started to lag then i put vsync on and im fine now, you might have lagging if your FPS is that high then enable vsync and you should be fine.
p.s just tested out in EotN Asuran parts (imo the most taxing part of GW) and got about 110FPS and like 170 ping.

fps and ping are not connected in any way. a high fps won't affect your ping, neither does really low fps.
eGaming
300 would be took much FPS for your eyes to handle anyway, I get around 90-100ping - can interupt shit pretty well
Snograt
I suppose it's pointless mentioning screen refresh rates vs. fps in a topic full of speed merchants?
Thought so :/

Your image is only as good as your weakest compnant, and as Snograt's comment suggests, 300fps is wasted if you only have a 60 or 70Hz monitor
I tend to average about 250ms ping with verly little problem

i've been playing on 500-800 ping for 3 years, and i've yet to see anything i'm unable to play in pve with that ping....i just means that i have to react faster when i play interupts
Nerel
With an 800 ms ping a 3/4 second cast is over BEFORE you see it... so yes, you'd really have to react faster... maybe by flying around the world Superman2 style so you can go back in time and interrupt it.
500-800ms ping makes reflexing hard on anything but the most lengthy casts, even predictive interrupting can be hard with a high ping... and most teams don't appreciate spray and pray interrupt spamming techniques.

Nerf Me Haha
I'm averging ~300-600 ms ping, I don't have much problems unless playing a ranger which I don't cuz of this ping.

Mesmer and ranger generally need good pings for interrupts.
Monks do too but not to the same extent.
For monks it's more often about predicting the spikes before they happen, so once they do your ally is already protted. Even with 200-300ms, you should be able to do it fairly good.

I've played Ranger for top 400 guilds on 150-200 ping, so interupting is managable. The skills you need to interupt on reflex (Guardian, Attunements, Res, Troll etc) are all generally 1 sec or more casting time, so you can manage that fine. Most other skills you can catch from timing (Ele using BS on recharge, Warrior try to Q-knock, Monk healing/protting after KD). Obviosly these things change when you get into real top level play, but if your new to the game now, I doubt youll be getting into top 100 GvG anytime soon.
