Necromancer/Assassin in "Prophecies"
mzprx
Hi, as many here I'm new to the game, and have recently purchased GW Trilogy online, so I'm kind of ready to go, and get my butt kicked by some monster, but as I want to start as a Necromancer, and have heard that there will be chance to get a second profession, I'd like to be an Assassin too. But at the Prophecies there is only Necromancer to choose. So my question is: If I start as a Necromancer with Prophecies (I want to play the game from the beginning) will I be able to kind of "save" the second profession untill I get with the campaign to the Faction part, and then take the Assassin? Or if I take for example Elementalist as a second profession will I be able to change it? And by the way, can I actually continue with my original Prophecies character through the whole game (Factions, Nightfall)? Many thanx for your help guys.

After you ascend in each campaign (Desert, Hunted! and Naphui Quarter) you can change your second proffesion.
You can change campaign by doing at quest (LA, Kaineng, Consulate Docks).

It is also possible to purchase access to all the secondary professions in Nightfall.
Yes. Access is granted through short quests in the various port towns. You'll skip out the starter areas of the campaigns that you jump to.

If you follow the game's story, you can travel to the other games after completing the 7th mission (out of 25 total). Assassin can only be obtained as a second profession in Factions, so you would need to take your Necro to Factions before being able to change the secondary to Assassin. Or, you can take your character to the Great Temple of Balthazar to change secondary, but if you want to do it the 'fastest' way, moving to Factions with the character would be best. Since you can only change secondary on a character that has ascended, the Great Temple of Balthazar option won't work until you ascend. In Prophecies, this is pretty far into the game. However, in Factions, it is only 2 missions in for a character from Prophecies.

You can't gain access to having a secondary profession of Assassin in Prophecies, but can play as one if it has been unlocked for your character in another continent. (ie, you can be a Prophecies Necro, travel to Factions, get your Assassin secondary and then go back to Prophecies and continue to play as a N/A).

Everything mentioned above, and in case you need help with missions and the like go here and when you need a build go here.
Guru is helpfull too ofcourse, use the "Search" thingy. Good luck and enjoy the game
EDIT:
Like I said above, you can always check Guildwars Wiki, it's a database with most, if not all, info about GW. Go here to check how you can change campains btw.

Ok, so can you tell me how to travel from Prophecies to Fractions and get the Assassin as a second profession?

Simple: Once you reach Lion's Arch, watch for the popup (which should continue to show every time you enter the city until you unlock all campaigns) that will tell you who to speak to in order to get the quest needed. Once you get to Factions, it's just a matter of following the storyline.

1: continue to play until you get to the desert missions where you will ascend. After that you can travel to the great temple of Balthazar where you can talk to the profession changer and change your second profession to any profession in any of the 3 games for 500g for the first time change - you may then change to any 2nd profession you have unlocked for free in the skills panel. You do not actually have to travel to cantha to get the assassin profession available here.
2: Go to Cantha and do a couple of mission which will "ascend" you in factions. After the Naphui Quarter mission you will be in an outpost where you can change your 2nd profession
3: cheat - get some one to run you to Sanctum Cay then through the dessert missions. Beat the doppleganger, which will ascend you and the bop to the Great Temple of Balthazar for your sin secondary.

Keep in mind though that even though you ascend and get the second profession more easily in another campaign, you won't get the last 30 attribute points unless you finish the two quests in prophecies. One is in the Crystal Desert, and one is just past Droknar's Forge.
The main problem with a new Proph toon is that it takes so long to max it out; you can do it in a couple days of casual playing in either of the other campaigns.
