Am I allowed too?

I was wondering.
Am I allowed to say a guild wars 2 release date and be wrong.
Because in some games such things are bannable because it " spreading rumors".
Am I?

You shouldn't give out release dates if you don't even have a clue or are uncertain anyway. Plus your thread will just get locked, don't think you'll get banned though. We've heard so many rumour release dates so, don't bother posting one unless you have a link to an official source such as ANet themselves. (NOT amazon or anything like that)

I was pretty sure. Alot of people said the same time of the year.
Then I looked at the Guild wars official site where was nothing stated (yet)

Yeah, if it isn't from ArenaNet themselves then i personally wouldn't believe anything anyone says.

I guess I'm just going to contact their support.
Any idea how long it will take for them to answer?

Sure you can tell us the release date, if you have a verifiable reliable source. If it's just something like "my friend told me someone told him that the release date is 2025" then it's probably not true .

I bet they won't tell you that

You can ask support but you shouldn't expect an answer except for "when it's done".

No, you can't be banned for spreading rumors in game.

Granted, I don't work for ANet, so I'm sure they reserve the right to do whatever they want.

Well, they have a release date. The only problem is that they wont share it with anyone until the date is close

I heard GW2 will be released 3 days after Duke Nukem Forever has been released... which will be sometime shortly after Final Fantasy 273 has gone live.

1. You can lie all you want in game. No one will ban you unless you swear, make racist comments or other similar things. Spreading rumors is not against the rules in GW.

2. You also won't be banned on guru for spreading rumors although you might get flamed.

Well I've learned from this. Won't ever spread anything again even if I assume its correct.
