Deliberate Act of Sabotage
J I L T
Sabotaging is funny sometimes my favorite thing to do is use feast of souls when there's a spirit spammer around.
carbajac
Necro's do it, Mesmers too, vamp weapons. You just grumble and move on.

makes me think of the old uw days....when you were leary of the korean and chinese monks---the ones that would get you killed off with the aaxtles and then go on to the smites.....yep its been going on for quite some time now.

this whole thread reminds me of another point... why is there no dishonorable status in pve? there's just as many wack jobs (ragers, griefers, leechers) you can find in pve pugs as in pvp. i want these guys to be banned from pve until they have some time to cool down

Vengence is kind of amusing in AB. Saw that a few times. People are like, "What the heck just killed me?!" XD

I've also run into players that want to be paid to do something. Stupidity.

I hate that attitude about being afraid to report. I cause shit storms and call every leecher out and it can work. Routintely I will get 3/4 or whatever is needed. Getting 5 though is very hard to do, I can usually get 3 people to report, but if 5 could it would prevent the person reported from getting real time faction which is even better. Oh and I'm NEVER hexed, so don't worry about that. The one time I got reported for spamming (which I don't give a damn about... I told them to kill ________ right now before the amber comes in, but everybody ignored him so I clicked his name over 100 times), it was only like 3 minutes hex! I am not kidding you!

Just have the team report them for scamming.

It all comes down to the fact there is no ostracism for those who grief in any aspect of the game. You have carte blanche to do whatever you feel and get away with it.
Shadowhaze
True, the wait times can be horrid. A friend actually brought it once. He thought it was helpful I think. I ended up being one of those people that was wondering what killed me.
That too, yes.
Oh so do I. I was only saying it's crazy that you can report someone that's actually reportable, yet get a dishonor/ban yourself for doing so when you've done nothing. And yes, somehow preventing them from benefiting would be good...how that would be done is another matter.
lol

I just say that we still need 3 more to report, 2 more to report... when I get to 1 though, it's like people are afraid of crossing that line. Just have 5 people report one person. No faction for them, its' in the game.

I actually do find the occasional sabotage funny, even if the joke's on me. People like that actually remind me that GW is just a game, and that I'll enjoy it much more if I play with a sense of humor. If you don't see it that way, then nobody's forcing you not to play with heroes, henchmen, or guildies.
The ability to ping your skill bar was meant to be a quick easy way for you to show your party what you're running, not a tool to police their builds and make them meet 'your standard'. I think it takes a pretty large ego to take control of everyone's game experience, and then get outraged at 'those griefers' who dare defy your will. I wouldn't be too surprised if that's what actually motivates them in the first place.

The only act of sabotage I see much of is when you get into ta and have the teams of 4 stance sins. They just hop around the map and run out the 10 minutes or whatever without dying, so you end in a draw game and get kicked back. It sucks when you've come from ra and are on your 14 or 15 win and hit one of these teams. They only do it to break people's win streaks.

So like, we did the Zaishen Bounty today. This one guy wanted to cap the skill Mobrin was carrying, but he was dead when Mobrin died, and the rest of the team quickly left.
He asked me to leave too so he would auto-res and cap.
I slowly walked back to Gadd's encampment and stepped through, taking us both to the outpost

I've done it before.
Mostly when a group kicks my Assassin before a mission because "lolassassinsuck". Log onto another character, preferably a Monk, and run my assassin skillbar for lulz

I hate when it happens to me, but then I giggle like a little school girl when I read the stories here. I think the funny part comes in when you relate to the guy dead waiting to be ressed by a guy who is dancing on your corpse and wondering if this is truly happening... It's kind of like laughing at the guy who tried to dive into his pool off a ladder which happened to displace upon leaping. Very painful, yet there's some sick part of you that laughs inside.

The Judas Priest build thing is just lame. I don't even think I'd find that funny if I did it myself. Sabotage has to be clever and inventive or it might as well not even be done.
Had a monk join our group once, who as it turns out, was a 55 monk. He kept dying and honestly couldn't understand why, as if the 55 monk were invincible. Everybody thought it was lame except me. I couldn't figure out if he was faking it or if he really thought that, but I imagine that I was the only one laughing the entire time.

OP, did you actually ask the monks to ping their bars? If not, I seriously doubt their goal was to sabotage whatever you were doing. There are still players out there that don't install the game and head straight to PvX, so it's possible that they thought heal area was decent! |

Earlier today we were going after the zaishen bounty. I joined a group, only to find there was another spirit spammer already in. Well, I ran a restoration build, and that was that. But I did notice that this person was a pushy asshole who tried to act as though she knew everything, even when she was clearly wrong, and thought that playing for four years made her a good player.
So, since I had Feast of Souls in my build, I made sure to kill off her spirits regularly.
We ended up in the same group for the zaishen mission, though running different builds, so I brought along Gaze of Fury for the same purpose.
Because it's fun
It's part of the 4chan mentality.

Deliberate Act(s) of Sabotage?
welcome to pugs.
welcome to pugs.
Roupe
Naming two kinds of types
One.. Leeches (either unfortunate or a restless passenger without a runner)
This type isn't doing his task due to a wanton desire to destroy the team
Its because
he doesnt have the "veteran" skills, or don't like adapting.
He could be inept, clueless, bad at tactics or just lacks the desire too perform the given task/challenge.
Melee leeches are usually gets away with this behavior, Since a Individual Melee character in general doesn't do by itself a huge impact in the battle. They need to run up & catch individual foes in order to attack.
It shouldn't be the end of the party if one warrior dies. which is why these melee leeches often isn't noticed.
Old prophesies days: farmer wannabe smiting monks, made a bad reputation for smiters.
Old faction days:assassins wannabe tanks, made a bad reputation for assassins.
"worst" :invited proclaimed Healing prayer monk casts Meteor & Meteor shower and complains about energy.
Two.. Avengers or Terrorist
Clueless or Pissed off player or Joker that preys on players. They actually go out to harm the party. Often quite intentional.
aggro a crowd and returns for healing (with aggro) to the back-lining healers.
shadowform assassin runs off compass and returns (during battle) with a huge ball of extra aggro.
Favorit: Not skipping the cut scene?:Necromancer Minion Master rage quits and turns its minions hostile upon the unsuspecting party. Was Common in early factions when cut scenes counted against the overall bonus timer. Also due the cut-scenes degened killed the undead minions .
"douchbag": Condition necro/ranger using Edge of Extinction, Frozen soil, Pestilence, Rotting Flesh and Virulence (elite)
Humanoid foes? Rotting flesh and summons Edge of Extinction.
Several party members dead? Summons Frozen soil. and recast it.
---
Tell tell signs of a bad PVE party setup
Frequent Dying's and long-winded battles.
Indications of lousy tanks (aggro-holding)
Friendly softies (healers and casters) dying at aggro
Indications of lousy tanks (non aggro-holding)
Enemy healers unmolested
Battles taking to long
Indications of lousy healing
multiple Slow casting spells (1+ s), multiple similar effect spells (3+), party wiping from few non boss foes. Casting damage skills. Needed NPCs dying
Indications of a lousy damage dealer
Battles taking to long
Foes unmolested.

I hoped there was some more story behind it but oh well reason as good as any other
One guy was constantly spamming me with pls help with NM here, there. Every primary quest was so hard he had to ask. So instead of running him (that how help usually looks like in early missions) I took my low level wammo. I was not stalked by him ever again.
Seems that acts of sabotage are often hmmm asked for?
